Trump: Biden ‘would probably’ pardon Hunter Biden

With Hunter Biden now indicted by the Department of Justice, there is a lot of talk about Biden pardoning Hunter Biden.

When the White House was asked about it, White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre was adamant that Joe Biden would not pardon his son.

Donald Trump believes something completely different, however.

It’s Gonna Happen

Hunter Biden is currently facing six federal charges… three related to owning a firearm illegally and three related to his tax issues.

If we are being realistic, regardless of the charges, Hunter Biden will never see a day in jail.

Merrick Garland will likely have the DOJ drag this out as long as possible, ideally until after the election when it will not hurt Joe Biden, then a deal will be announced where Hunter gets slapped on the wrist and never sees the inside of a jail cell.

The White House was asked about this again in December, with Karine Jean-Pierre responding, “I’ve been very clear; the president is not going to pardon his son.”

Trump disagrees, stating, “I think he [Joe Biden] would do anything. I think he’s a guy that would do anything. He probably would do that.”

If Joe Biden did pardon Hunter, it would not happen until his last day in office, but even that would be a humongous risk for the Democrat Party.

Remember, they have been spewing rhetoric about “nobody is above the law” in regard to Trump for years, so if Joe pardons Hunter, it is a PR nightmare for Democrats.

That is why I believe the scenario laid out above... that the Department of Justice will eventually work out a sweetheart deal for Hunter, with no jail time, and he just takes it on the chin to get it behind him.

Trump then went on about how he could have pardoned himself before leaving office, but that is a legal question that has not yet been answered.

There are several issues at hand, the first being a pre-emptive pardon, then the idea of a president pardoning himself, which has never been done. The legal experts are still debating that question, but with Trump’s current legal problems, if he wins the election, it may not be something they have to argue about very much longer.
