A glitch in Nevada's election system is being cited for erroneously informing voters that they had cast ballots in the state's presidential primary, even though they had not.
The Nevada Republican Party reported that some voters who did not participate in the primary were notified that their mail-in ballots had been counted, according to KTNV-TV.

In response to these concerns, the Nevada Republican Party's legal team has promptly taken action, the party said in a statement.
"The NVGOP is actively communicating with the Secretary of State's Office to conduct a thorough investigation into these alleged irregularities," the statement said.
"It is essential to maintain the integrity of the electoral process and ensure accurate accounting of every legitimate vote," it added.
Daphne Lee, a Republican from Las Vegas, stated that her family's mail-in ballots were tallied for the primary despite none of them voting, as reported by the Las Vegas Review-Journal.
Lee also mentioned encountering difficulties when attempting to opt out of receiving future mail-in ballots, as the system indicated she was not registered and had no voting history.
"We take these reports very seriously," stated Michael McDonald, Chairman of the Nevada Republican Party.
"The cornerstone of our Republic is the trust and confidence of the American people in the electoral process. Any indication of irregularities must be thoroughly investigated to ensure the integrity of our elections," he continued.
The Office of the Secretary of State acknowledged a data upload problem from counties to the state database.
"After working closely with Nevada’s county clerks, registrars, and their IT staff, the Nevada Secretary of State’s office is confident that all issues related to erroneous vote history have been identified and fixes are in progress," a statement from the Nevada Secretary of State’s office said, according to KVVU-TV.
The statement explained that the problem stemmed from the nightly upload of voter registration data from counties to the state database, which led to inaccurate voter history due to certain steps not being taken with legacy systems used by some counties.
The Secretary of State's office assured that the issue would be resolved within 48 hours and emphasized that while voter records were affected, the vote totals from the primary were not impacted. The issue looms large ahead of the 2024 vote as many concerns remain over the accuracy America's ballots.
