The Supreme Court has set a deadline for the Justice Department to answer former President Donald Trump's request regarding the involvement of a special master's review of documents seized during the FBI's raid of his Mar-a-Lago home.
Justice Clarence Thomas set the time as next Tuesday at 5 p.m. Eastern Time, according to the court's records.

"The deadline was set hours after lawyers for Trump requested the Supreme Court vacate the partial stay order from the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 11th Circuit that allowed the DOJ to continue to look through the roughly 100 allegedly classified documents the FBI seized from Trump's Florida resort in August," the Washington Examiner reported.
"The ruling from the appeals court reversed a decision by Judge Aileen Cannon, who ruled that the DOJ would have to provide seized documents with classified markings to special master Judge Raymond Dearie for independent review seeking privileged materials," it added.

The ruling is set to increase controversy in whatever decision is made in the high-stakes case regarding allegations of Trump keeping classified material.
The president also seeks to clear his name ahead of a potential 2024 comeback bid, something Democrats hope to stop in advance.
