East Palestine, Ohio needed nothing more than the president of the United States to stop in for a brief visit and tell them everything was going to be alright.
Instead, President Joe Biden flew to Ukraine. And making matters worse, when later asked if he'd spoken to East Palestine's mayor, the frail, probably cognitively challenged president said he couldn't recall.
Biden, when asked by reporters about his intentions to visit the Ohio town, has laughed the situation off and tied it to a joke about an old song.
"Are you planning on traveling to East Palestine?"
BIDEN: "At this moment not. I was, I did a whole video, I mean, uh, you know, the uh, what the hell? On..."
"Zoom?"
BIDEN: "Zoom. All I can hear every time I think of Zoom is that song of my generation, 'Who's Zoomin' Who?'" pic.twitter.com/fBWAVar7Gm

In an interview with the president, David Muir of ABC asked him several reasonable and solid questions, a rare occurrence for any news outlet outside of Fox News with this administration.
"The mayor says he saw you in Ukraine, and he says, ‘It tells you he doesn’t care about us.’ They’re asking, is the President coming to Ohio? Do you have any plan to travel to Ohio, and have you talked with the mayor yet?” Muir asked Biden.
Biden danced around the question at first, saying, "I’ve spoken at length to the congresspersons, the governors, the senators from both states of Pennsylvania and, and in Ohio. And I’ve made it clear to them, anything they need is available or we’ll make it available to them."
Muir pressed him on the issue, and especially on whether or not he'd spoken to East Palestine's mayor.
"I can’t recall whether I’ve — I don’t think I’ve talked to the mayor. I’ve talked to everyone else there, multiple times. I’ve talked to both the senators, both governors. I’ve talked to everyone there is to talk to, and we’ve made it clear that everything is available," the confused, elderly president said.
JUST IN: Fully Fit and cognitively balanced Joe Biden says he ‘can’t recall’ if he has spoken to the mayor of East Palestine..

Social media was brutally honest about the interview, which showed a much slower, more confused Biden than ever before.
"Sad to see someone go through dementia," one Twitter user wrote.
While Biden was a no-show altogether, the most that the Biden administration did was send the embarrassing Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg to the town, but a day after former President Donald Trump made his own visit, bringing with him supplies like food and water.
It's truly scary and disheartening to see how poorly East Palestine was treated by the U.S. government when those people needed its help the most.
