"Budd's support has fallen by 4 points since an Emerson College Polling-The Hill survey in April found him leading Beasley 50 percent to 46 percent in a hypothetical matchup," the Hill reported.
"The polling falls within the margin of error, which is plus or minus 3 percentage points, effectively tying the two candidates," it added.

In the latest polling of *likely* voters from ECU, Budd is up 49 to 46 over Beasley. Their last poll of *registered* voters had Budd's lead higher. https://t.co/Z6eMgJkFNy— Gray Wolf (@graywolf442) September 16, 2022
The same poll found that former President Donald Trump would currently win against President Joe Biden in North Carolina. Trump polled at 47%, with Biden at 42%.
The new poll is excellent news for Budd but remains too close to celebrate as the two candidates continue a close battle in the weeks ahead of the midterm elections.
