Michael Moore Urges Biden to Use Final Days to Implement Wishlist Liberal Policies

Michael Moore, the well-known progressive filmmaker, has called on President Joe Biden to take bold action during the last 100 days of his presidency. Moore emphasized that Biden has a unique opportunity to enact a series of left-wing policies through executive orders, given that he is no longer bound by the demands of reelection campaigns.

The New York Post reported that Moore believes Biden has the power to make sweeping changes through executive action, especially in his final days in office.

During his appeal, Moore stressed that Biden's current position is unprecedented. He noted that for the first time in over five decades, Biden does not have to campaign or seek support for another term.

This, according to Moore, frees the president from political constraints and allows him to act purely on behalf of the American people who elected him.

Filmmaker Calls for Swift Executive Actions

Moore highlighted that with the remaining 100 days of Biden's presidency, the president can take advantage of his powers to pass progressive policies.

Specifically, Moore pointed out that the president has legal immunity for official acts, referencing a recent Supreme Court decision from July. He described this moment as Biden being granted "super powers" and encouraged him to take full advantage of this legal protection.

Among the policies Moore urged Biden to enact were forgiving all student loan and medical debt, as well as abolishing the death penalty.

These are proposals that have long been at the forefront of progressive political agendas. Moore also suggested other executive actions that could have a significant impact on American lives, stating that Biden can "make life better for millions of people with just a stroke of the pen."

Criticism of U.S. Role in Israel-Hamas Conflict

Moore's call for action was not limited to domestic policy. He also addressed Biden's foreign policy, specifically criticizing the U.S. involvement in the Israel-Hamas conflict.

Moore urged the president to halt what he described as funding for "a genocide" in Gaza. He was particularly critical of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, accusing him of defying Biden's warnings and crossing "red lines" set by the U.S. government.

Moore did not hold back in his assessment of Netanyahu's actions, questioning how many more violations would be tolerated.

He warned that the Israeli leader had repeatedly ignored Biden's advice, suggesting a tense relationship between the two allies during this ongoing conflict.

Interestingly, Moore's recent statements come after previous public remarks in which he urged Biden to drop out of the 2024 presidential race.

He had advocated for Vice President Kamala Harris to take Biden's place as the Democratic nominee, believing that she could better represent the party moving forward. Despite this, Moore now appears focused on ensuring that Biden maximizes his current role while still in office.

Democrats’ Fear of a Trump Return

Throughout his statements, Moore expressed surprise at what he perceives as fear among Democrats about the possibility of former President Donald Trump winning the 2024 election. According to Moore, Democrats remain a "frightened group," preoccupied with the idea that Trump could make a political comeback.

Moore’s remarks reflect a broader concern within the Democratic Party over Trump’s continued influence in American politics, even as legal challenges against the former president mount.

At the heart of Moore’s message was a call for President Biden to recognize the authority he holds. The filmmaker asserted that Biden now has more power and freedom than ever before and urged him to wield it for progressive causes.

"You don’t answer to anyone," Moore said, referring to Biden's ability to act without political pressure. In Moore’s view, Biden has a responsibility to the American people, particularly those who helped elect him, and should use the remaining days of his presidency to fulfill campaign promises through unilateral executive actions.

From forgiving student and medical debt to halting U.S. support for Israel in the ongoing Gaza conflict, Moore’s appeal is rooted in the belief that Biden can create lasting change before leaving office. However, whether Biden will act on these suggestions remains to be seen, as the final chapter of his presidency unfolds.
