Thankfully, when Republicans assume control of the House of Representatives in January, much-needed changes will also take place.
According to the Daily Caller, one of those changes is soon-to-be Speaker Kevin McCarthy's (R-CA) pledge to make the Capitol building accessible to the general public once again.
For most of the 117th Congress, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA), through COVID-19 rules and post-Jan. 6 protocol has kept the Capitol grounds virtually locked away from the very voters who gave her a job.
McCarthy says he's going to change that on Day One.
McCarthy sends a letter to Capitol officials demanding a "full written plan on how your office plans to fully reopen the House beginning on January 3, 2023."@victoriaregisk and I reported that this would be a part of the GOP's pandemic plans: https://t.co/RMNZ4aIimZ pic.twitter.com/BKGfO4NGWa

"One of the first orders of business under your new House Republican majority → Fully re-open the U.S. Capitol to the public," the Republican House Leader tweeted last week.

Additionally, as it was before Pelosi made everything weird, members of Congress will be allowed to hand out tickets. Members of the public will also be able to register for tickets online like they were able to pre-Pelosi.
Even better, McCarthy has also promised to bring back a dose of patriotism in the People's House too.
The Daily Caller noted, "McCarthy additionally stated that every morning of the House's proceedings would begin with a prayer as well as the Pledge of Allegiance to the U.S. flag, a departure from their intermittent practice under Democrats, according to a post on Facebook."
Doubling down, he added, "no exceptions."
Such changes will undoubtedly be welcomed by many, but one can be assured that the radical, America-hating progressive Democrats will put up a fight to stop the change from taking place. Republicans hold a slim majority, and Democrats will have the support of the Biden administration as they work to keep the Capital locked down.
