President Joe Biden is uncertain whether Vice President Kamala Harris can win in 2024, making her a factor in his decision over running for reelection.
The story comes from a Reuters report citing Democratic sources as Bidne prepares to announce his reelection bid.

“A point of tension in their relationship is that I don’t think that the president sees her as somebody who takes anything off of his plate," according to the report.
“If he did not think she was capable, he would not have picked her. But it is a question of consistently rising to the occasion,” that former official said. “I think his running for re-election is less about her and more about him, but I do think that she and the Democratic bench [are] a factor.”
Apart from the news that he’s sick of her, hard to believe we’re here: Biden, 80, moves toward an unprecedented run for a 2nd term as the first octogenarian in the Oval Office. If he wins and becomes ill or incapacitated, Harris would succeed him https://t.co/JrdO8RYn0W

Both Biden and Harris have struggled with low approval ratings as Biden prepares to announce his reelection bid.
Biden's latest average by RealClearPolitics stands at 42%, while Harris draws an even lower 39% rating.
A new poll finds a stagnant job approval rating for President Biden and a low approval rating for VP Kamala Harris, although both still have high marks among Democrats.

A recent Monmouth University poll found "41% of Americans approve of Biden's job as president, while 51% disapprove, which is only a slight dip from Biden's 43% approval rating in January (though the change is well within the poll’s margin of error)."
Harris ranked even lower, "Just over a third of those surveyed — 36% — approve of Harris' job as vice president, while 53% disapprove."
The latest numbers show that despite Biden's concerns about running again at the age of 80, Harris would be an even stronger liability for Democrats seeking to remain in power in the White House.
The developments appear to be leading to a potential Biden-Trump rematch, something most Democrats appear happy to see as they hope to once again win the same battleground states as 2020.
Conservatives hope to change the situation but will either have to change the numbers in a few key states or back a different candidate, with many candidates still considering a run in the months ahead.
