Jill Biden Faces Criticism From Ex-Husband Over Political Role

First lady Jill Biden’s ex-husband, Bill Stevenson, has raised concerns about her continued support for President Joe Biden amid his faltering performance in recent political debates.

The New York Post reported that in a recent series of statements, Stevenson expressed surprise at Jill Biden’s prominent role in politics, drawing a stark contrast with their past relationship and accusing President Biden of dishonesty.

Stevenson and Jill Biden were married from 1970 to 1975. He has voiced his support for former President Donald Trump and criticized the Bidens, referring to them as the "Biden crime family."

These remarks encapsulate Stevenson’s disappointment with Jill Biden's encouragement of President Biden to stay in the 2024 presidential race despite his perceived struggles.

Stevenson’s Shift in Support Over the Years

Initially, Stevenson supported Biden's political ambitions during his runs for the U.S. Senate in 1972 and as vice president alongside Barack Obama. Their relationship took a contentious turn after allegations surfaced that Jill and Joe Biden’s relationship began as an affair, a claim made by Stevenson himself.

In a more recent assessment, Stevenson claimed that Jill Biden has significantly changed over the years. He lamented, "The Dr. Jill Biden who I’ve seen on TV in the last five years is not the same person I married or that I recognize in any way."

Stevenson criticized Jill Biden’s active role in defending and promoting the President. He stated, "I just don’t understand why she is so adamant about defending him and keeping him in the race since it appears that he’s struggling." Expressing further concern, Stevenson added, "It appears that he’s struggling with everybody these days."

Despite his disquiet, Stevenson acknowledged moments of pride in Jill Biden's accomplishments. "I’ve watched Jill grow. I’ve been proud of her at certain moments. I have no hard feelings," he said. However, he remains baffled by her current high-profile presence in the political arena.

Stevenson’s criticisms also extended to President Biden’s past behavior and integrity. Recalling an incident, he alleged that Biden had repeated an anecdote Stevenson had shared with him shortly after it was told. He has articulated his grievances in his upcoming book, "The Bidens: The Early Years," set to be self-published next month.

Not holding back his criticism, Stevenson remarked, "It makes me cringe every time he calls Trump a liar, because I’m telling you right now, there is no better liar than President Biden." He further labeled Biden as "a bad person," stating, "I’m probably one of the few people outside his family who has known him for 50 years."

Evaluating President Biden’s Mental Acuity

Questioning President Biden's mental acuity, Stevenson observed, "Look, I’m not a doctor or a psychiatrist but yeah, I felt he lost a step three or four years ago. Now I think it’s more like a couple of steps." He concluded his thoughts with a lack of sympathy, citing negative experiences, "Do I feel badly for him? No, because he did some horrible things to me and my family."

As Stevenson prepares to release his second book, the public will get a deeper look into his perspective on the early years of the Bidens.

His narrative adds another layer of complexity to the already tumultuous political landscape.

In conclusion, Bill Stevenson's criticism of Jill Biden underscores the deep personal and political rifts that have emerged over the years.

His reflections on their past, coupled with his current observations, paint a picture of a man disillusioned by the transformations he perceives in both Jill and Joe Biden.

As the 2024 presidential race heats up, Stevenson's insights and allegations are sure to spark further discussions. His forthcoming book promises to shed more light on the early years of the Bidens, potentially revealing more about the personal dynamics of one of America's most scrutinized political families.
