JD Vance defends Trump position

As vice president, JD Vance has had a few occasions where he seemed to differ from Trump on military engagements.

Considering his past comments, it was interesting to hear his comments on Trump’s recent statement regarding the war between Israel and Iran.

Signal

One of the downfalls of that now-infamous Signal chat group being publicized was that it showed an apparent apprehension of Vance to embrace the strike against the Houthis.

After Vance’s comments showing some concern about the perception of the strike were published, the GOP rallied behind Vance to justify his questions.

For instance, Sen. Markwayne Mullin (R-OK) responded, “JD is inquisitive, he asks questions but it’s not— he doesn’t ask questions in a way ‘this is what I believe, hell or high water I’m not changing my view.’ Like, there’s a lot of elected officials do.

“He has an ability to ask questions and then come to a conclusion that he may not have started at, which I think is kind of unique for him.”

Nobody Knows

One of the things I like about Trump is his unpredictability because, in certain situations, I think it helps protect the United States against outside threats.

To that very point, Trump recently told reporters, “I’m not looking to fight. But if it’s a choice between fighting and having a nuclear weapon, you have to do what you have to do.”

He later added, “I may do it, I may not do it. I mean, nobody knows what I’m going to do.”

I agree with him completely and would take it to another level. I stand by my statements that Russia never would have attacked Ukraine with Trump in office, solely on the fact that Putin had no clue how Trump would have reacted to such an attack.

Vance Defends Trump

When Trump says something, it goes without saying that it will be sensationalized and taken out of context, more often than not, and we are seeing a lot of that lately.

Now, Trump is being defended by Vance over comments that are flying all over social media. Vance stated, “Look, I'm seeing this from the inside, and am admittedly biased towards our president (and my friend), but there's a lot of crazy stuff on social media, so I wanted to address some things directly on the Iran issue.”

He continued, "Over the last few months, he encouraged his foreign policy team to reach a deal with the Iranians to accomplish this goal. The president has made clear that Iran cannot have uranium enrichment. And he said repeatedly that this would happen one of two ways--the easy way or the ‘other’ way."

Vance continued to explain Trump’s position on this, one that is and always has been consistent. Now, I am not a big fan of Vance’s, but I think he is the exact VP that Trump needed in this political climate. Trump is the shock factor, while Vance is the calm and reasonable. It’s like a peanut butter and jelly sandwich... it just goes very well together.
