On Monday, just hours after a report surfaced about a competition between President Obama and President Biden, former President Barack Obama met with Prime Minister Rishi Sunak of the United Kingdom.
Obama and Sunak had their first face-to-face encounter on Monday since the latter's appointment as prime minister, as Fox News reported.
Obama was only observed on Monday afternoon when he was leaving Sunak's house.
All he mentioned was that it was a "courtesy visit" while he was in London for other business.
Less than a day has passed since a report exposing a competition between Obama, Biden, and their advisers that dates back ten years was released.
"Obama and his team did not fully appreciate Biden's experience with foreign policy, Congress, and grip-and-grin politicking— and were disrespectful," according to Biden aides' complaints, as Axios revealed this past weekend.
"The Obama people thought Biden would suck as president," one former Biden aide told Axios. "They didn't think he'd be organized enough to execute."
"We do have too many Obama people who don't care about Joe Biden. It's about them," a former White House official said.
"When people say, 'This is what worked for Obama,' their first response is often, 'We're not Obama,'" a "senior Democrat" reportedly said, referring to Biden's staff.
In an interview with Fox News Digital, White House Deputy Press Secretary Andrew Bates refuted any indication that Biden and Obama's relationship was in any way strained, claiming that Biden has not made personal jabs at Obama.
"We recognize that the actual level of drama in this White House is insufficient to meet some reporting quotas, but President Biden does not make such comments in private," Bates said. "As President Biden has said, President Obama is family to him.
The press secretary described Obama and Biden as having a close "personal bond."
The spokesperson went on to assert that there was "overwhelmingly [agreement] on the issues facing the country, including building an economy that works from the bottom-up and middle-out, protecting our critical freedoms, and opposing attacks on our democracy."
In a statement to Fox News Digital, an official from the Office of President Barack Obama said that the Obama Alumni Association threw a bash for Joe Biden's reelection campaign.
According to accounts from the event, it was well attended, and people there yelled about being "Fired up, ready to go," in encouragement of the president who is running for his second term.
