Radical Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg (D), most notable for his indictment of former President Donald Trump earlier this year, is back in the headlines.
According to Fox News, Bragg's year continues to worsen, as he found out this week that he's being sued by Jose Alba, an ex-bodega worker who was originally charged with murder after defending himself from a violent attack in his shop in New York City.
Originally, his murder charge drew intense criticism from all sides of the political aisle, as surveillance video clearly showed that he was simply defending himself from a dangerous robbery situation.
Bragg ultimately succumbed to public pressure and dropped the charges, but Alba isn't done with Bragg just yet.
It was announced over the weekend that he plans to file a lawsuit against Bragg and the New York Police Department (NYPD) for civil rights violations.
Fox noted:
Jose Alba, an ex-bodega worker who was attacked behind the counter on July 1, 2022, by 35-year-old Austin Simon and his girlfriend, Tina Lee, filed a lawsuit in the Southern District of New York on Friday alleging he was wrongfully prosecuted because of the Manhattan district attorney's "racial equity" policies. The complaint names Bragg, NYPD Detective William Garcia, and unidentified arresting officers and detectives of the NYPD as defendants in the case.
The lawsuit filing made clear why Alba decided to take legal action.
Every victim who had a case handled by a radical DA should sue. The victims are always ignored and disrespected. I can only imagine what Jose Alba is going through. I pray for healing and strength for him and the family. 🙏🏽 https://t.co/DIK5m5gy52

"New York County District Attorney Alvin Bragg and/or his subordinates, following Bragg’s policy to achieve ‘racial equity’ in the Manhattan criminal justice system, charged Plaintiff with murder in the second degree and asked for high bail at Plaintiff’s arraignment," the lawsuit said.
It added, "Despite the fact that Simon and Lee were the initial aggressors, it was Plaintiff who was arrested, incarcerated, and wrongfully prosecuted. While in theory, Bragg’s ‘racial equity’ policies are a well-intentioned attempt by him to implement even-handed justice, the means and methods employed by Bragg have instead had an opposite effect and resulted in discrimination against certain defendants based on race."
An attorney for the former bodega worker said his client is "seeking justice and compensatory and punitive damages against the city."
Many across social media supported Alba's decision to sue.
"Even if nothing happens to @ManhattanDA, I hope it's a sufficient nuisance, sort of a message to him that people are noticing what a thoroughly awful job he's doing as DA. And yes, I believe he's giving preferential treatment to criminals who fit a certain "background," over vics," one X user wrote.
Hopefully, the trend of suing these radical DAs continues.
