In order to ensure that he is not reelected in 2024, a man from Michigan who had previously knocked on doors for President Joe Biden in the run-up to the 2020 election has changed his position to assist in the management of the "uncommitted" campaign.
In the days leading up to the primary election in Michigan, a Palestinian American named Adam Abusalah, who is 23 years old, managed to garner support against Joe Biden, as The Washington Examiner reported.
During an interview with the Washington Post, he acknowledged that he advocates for Democratic voters in Michigan to vote "uncommitted" in order to reduce the number of votes that are cast for Biden.
This change in support by the community is reportedly in response to Biden's unwavering support for Israel.
As a consequence of the number of votes that were not committed, Biden was deprived of two delegates from the state.
These delegates will now be free to vote for any candidate they choose later on in this year.
“I don’t think there is anything that I can tell people in my community to justify voting for this guy,” Abusalah said of Biden.
“If Trump becomes president again, so be it. I mean, for me, it does not matter. For people who have lost family in Gaza, they don’t care. They don’t care, whichever — like, if Trump is president again.
"I think for us, it’s not that we want Trump to be president, it’s that we don’t want Biden to be president,” he added. “And if that means another Trump presidency, that’s on Biden. It’s not on us.”
Abusalah's efforts appear to have been successful, as President Biden, in an interview with MSNBC on Saturday, made the first public call for a ceasefire between Israel and Hamas.
“I want to see a ceasefire, and I’m starting with a major, major exchange of prisoners for a six-week period,” Biden said. “We’re going into Ramadan. It should be nothing happening, and we should build off of that ceasefire.”
The holy month of Ramadan, which is observed by Muslims, started on Sunday night. During that time, Muslims abstain from food and drink from sunrise to sunset.
Israel has agreed to this six-week truce, according to John Kirby, a spokesman for the National Security Council of the White House. However, Hamas has not yet committed to the ceasefire.
The terrorist organization Hamas abruptly interrupted the agreed-upon break early by launching rockets at Israel during a ceasefire that was in place between Israel and Hamas in November of last year. During this truce, hostages were exchanged for Palestinians who were
