Witness contradicts Fani Willis testimony about relationship with Nathan Wade

A pivotal witness revealed on Thursday that Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis initiated a romantic relationship with special prosecutor Nathan Wade as early as 2019.

During her testimony, Robin Yeartie, a former colleague of Willis and an individual with close ties to her, disclosed that the relationship between Willis and Wade began shortly after they met at a conference for municipal court judges in 2019.

The controversy

This revelation starkly contrasts with the timeline presented by Willis and Wade in court documents, where they indicated that their relationship began only after Wade's appointment as a special prosecutor in 2022.

Under questioning from Ashleigh Merchant, attorney for Trump co-defendant Michael Roman, Yeartie affirmed that the personal relationship between Willis and Wade evolved into a romantic one soon after their initial encounter.

She acknowledged that this romantic involvement persisted from 2019 until the last time she was in contact with them.

A different timeline

The revelation of the true timeline of Willis and Wade's relationship carries significant implications. Roman's legal team had filed a motion on January 8 seeking to disqualify Willis from the case, alleging that she had improperly benefited from appointing Wade as special prosecutor.

They contended that Wade had financed vacations for Willis using funds acquired through his official position.

In response to this motion, Willis confirmed the existence of the relationship in the state’s filing on February 2.

Conflicting information

An affidavit attached to the state’s response on February 2, submitted by Wade, contradicted Yeartie's testimony. Wade stated that he and Willis had not been involved in a romantic relationship prior to his appointment as special prosecutor and asserted that their personal involvement only began in 2022.

The discrepancy between Yeartie's testimony and Wade's affidavit raises questions about the integrity of the legal proceedings and the credibility of the individuals involved.

It suggests a potential attempt to conceal the true nature and timing of Willis and Wade's relationship, which could undermine the fairness and impartiality of the case.

The revelation underscores the importance of transparency and honesty in legal proceedings, particularly in cases involving high-profile individuals and sensitive matters.

Willis now faces a massive problem with her attempts to prosecute Trump, with calls now coming for her not only to be removed from the case but also to be disbarred from law in Georgia as the details in the probe continue to unfold.
