“Today, I have very sad news: A goodbye to one of our day ones, one of our OG [“original”] members of our team, Kevin Munoz, who’s sitting right here,” White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre said at Thursday’s briefing.
“Many of you know him. He was here since day one of this administration, and since Kevin joined the Biden world in 2019 for the campaign, he has affectionately been known as our ‘Florida man’ for his knowledge of all things Florida … if you have any questions about Florida, Kevin is your guy, that is his home state, of course," she added.

"Munoz's departure comes amid a period of transition and staff turnover heading into the administration's third year and a new phase of the pandemic. Details on his next steps were not immediately available, but the exit comes as President Joe Biden is expected to make a reelection announcement in the coming months," CNN reported.
"Munoz joined the White House after serving on the Biden transition team and on Biden's 2020 campaign, where the Jacksonville, Florida, native joined during the Democratic primary and later became the campaign's Florida press secretary," it added.

"Munoz has been a staple of the White House press team since the beginning of the administration. Before that, he worked as the Florida press secretary and Nevada press secretary for President Biden’s 2020 campaign," The Hills stated.
"Earlier this week, the White House added two veteran House aides to its legislative affairs shop, and the State Department announced that its spokesperson Ned Price will step down from his role to transition to working directly for Secretary Antony Blinken," it added.
Munoz is part of a growing number of Biden administration leaders to step down in recent months as the president repositions for a likely second-term run.
Biden faces a comeback bide from former President Donald Trump who currently leads in many polls, along with speculation over a potential run by Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis.
The White House may face several other changes as it prepares for the 2024 election with some staffers ready to exit rather than join a reelection battle.
