VP Harris laying low since launch of Biden-Harris reelection campaign: Report

As the 2024 presidential campaign season ramps up on both sides, many are wondering where Vice President Kamala Harris has been and what, exactly, she's doing with her time.

That's because the vice president has rarely been seen since the start of the Biden/Harris reelection bid, logging only 27 working days with little in the way of events, reported the Daily Caller.

It's weird because the Biden/Harris reelection campaign was officially launched on April 25, and Harris and her image was heavily used in campaign ads and other materials.

But since then, she's seemingly been off the grid, only attending a handful of briefings and events with the president and other leaders.

The Daily Caller noted:

Since, she has appeared alongside Biden in debt ceiling negotiations and at various ceremonies. While on her own, Harris has traveled across the country to give remarks on maternal health, climate change and the Inflation Reduction Act.

The outlet went on to note a number of instances in which Harris had very little scheduled during many of her work weeks.

In May, Harris had nothing on her public schedule for five weekdays. Nine days out of the month, Harris only had one activity on her calendar, which ranged from morning briefings with the president, greeting the women’s LSU basketball team to hosting the president of the Philippines for brunch.

Most of the months had similar outcomes, but in August, the vice president logged zero public activities, which is bizarre given the flurry of activity on the other side of the aisle, including multiple possible Republican challengers logging speeches and events across the country.

Perhaps she's following the lead of her boss, who spent a record amount of time away from the White House in August, and who many believe will try to run another "basement campaign" for the 2024 election.

The vice president's polling numbers remain firmly in the garbage, and she's clearly one of the most unpopular people to hold the position in recent memory.

Even Mediaite was forced to admit that Harris is shockingly unpopular with American voters.

"The latest NBC News poll offered some flashing warning signs for President Joe Biden and his Vice President Kamala Harris as Harris’ 'net-negative rating' dropped to the lowest number ever recorded in the poll," Mediaite reported last week.

There's growing concern within the Democratic Party regarding Harris as a potential replacement nominee should Biden step out of the race at some point.

Remember, Harris failed quickly in her 2020 run and was forced out before the first vote was cast. Democrats will struggle to do it, but they'll have to find a way to push her out if they want a chance at the White House next year.
