Vivek Ramaswamy spotted with wife at Mar-a-Lago gala as VP rumors explode

As former President Donald Trump prepares to claim the mantle of the GOP presidential nominee, the big story will be who he ultimately selects as his running mate.

Members of Trump's inner circle and Trump himself have dropped hints here and there regarding who might be on the shortlist. A video posted to X over the weekend, according to many, was an even bigger hint as to who Trump might have in mind for a vice president.

The video showed former GOP presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy, who still happens to be extremely popular with the MAGA base, especially given that he dropped out and immediately endorsed the former president.

The video

Citizen Free Press posted the video of Trump, along with his wife, former First Lady Melania Trump, entering Mar-a-Lago with Ramaswamy and his wife.

"President Trump and Melania entered Mar-a-Lago with Vivek and his wife last night," the video's caption read.

There was no further information posted as to why Ramaswamy and his wife were there, but social media users quickly came to the conclusion that all parties involved looked to be extremely friendly with one another.

Many suggested that Trump might have been testing Ramaswamy to see the reaction he would receive from his base regarding the possibility of choosing him as a running mate for the 2024 ticket.

"He does bring Vivek around a lot. Maybe VP maybe not but he is setting him up for a run in the future I feel," one X user wrote.

"Vivek is here"

According to the New York Post, the couples were at Mar-a-Lago for the Mar-A-Lago Trumpettes gala, and the former president offered kind words for Ramaswamy, his former competitor.

“Vivek is here. He’s smart. He’s sharp. I was happy to get him the hell out of the race. And as soon as he got out, he endorsed me. And he’s got a tremendous future," Trump told those in attendance.

He added, "He’s young, and he’s smart. Melania and I were just saying, ‘You don’t get sharper than this.'"

After Ramaswamy dropped out of the race earlier this year, Trump also taste that the tech entrepreneur had a "future" with the Trump administration. Only time will tell what, exactly, that future entails.
