Vice President Kamala Harris Blasted By Victim Of Illegal Immigrant Released By Harris's Program

A victim of an assault by an undocumented immigrant has openly criticized Vice President Kamala Harris for downplaying the severity of the incident as a mere glitch in the system.

Fox News reported that the assault occurred after Harris, then San Francisco District Attorney, initiated the "Back on Track" program intended to rehabilitate non-violent offenders, allowing some to avoid jail, including the assailant Alexander Izaguirre.

In 2008, Amanda Kiefer was subjected to an attack by Alexander Izaguirre, who attempted to run her over with a stolen SUV after a purse snatching. Kiefer sustained significant injuries, including a skull fracture, during the incident.

Program Accused of Lapses After Attack

Prior to this incident, Izaguirre had faced drug-related charges but was released as a participant in the "Back on Track" program orchestrated by Harris. Designed to offer non-violent offenders a chance to avoid jail time, the program inadvertently enabled Izaguirre's release back onto the streets.

Months after his release, Harris, while addressing an audience in 2010, acknowledged the incident as a “mistake” in the program. She expressed the political backlash she endured as a result but defended the innovative goals of the program.

During a 2009 public address, Harris confirmed that Izaguirre was prosecuted and slated for deportation.

She acknowledged the program's unintended flaw in accommodating an undocumented immigrant with a past offense.

Experiencing a dramatic shift in her political views after the incident, Kiefer moved away from her previous support of liberal policies. She has since aligned herself with political figures like former President Donald Trump.

Kiefer's criticism of Harris extends beyond the past program. She voiced concerns about current policies, stating her belief that safety for citizens is not a priority for the present administration.

In her words, the involvement of undocumented immigrants in crime-related incidents is seen as a persistent issue not adequately addressed by Democratic leaders. Her direct contact with Harris’s policy underscored a broader dissatisfaction with immigration policies at large.

Public Appearance with Former President

Most recently, Kiefer appeared alongside Trump at the Arizona border, solidifying her new political stance. Citing concerns over community safety, she has also relocated from San Francisco.

Fox News Digital attempted to reach out for comments from Vice President Harris’s campaign regarding the resurfacing of the issue but did not receive a response. The lack of commentary has done little to allay the ongoing criticism.

Kiefer vehemently opposes what she interprets as a recurring theme of the Democratic Party, particularly concerning immigration policies and their impact on everyday safety. She has emphasized her belief that these policies are compromising national security.

The incident and its repercussions shed light on ongoing national debates over law enforcement strategies and immigration policy reform. Critics argue that well-intentioned programs, while beneficial to many, must include robust safeguards to prevent criminals from reoffending.

Supporters of programs like “Back on Track” maintain that they provide essential second chances for rehabilitation.

However, incidents such as Kiefer’s assault highlight the necessity for careful consideration of program participants’ backgrounds.

This discussion remains a divisive issue in American politics. As election cycles continue, the debate over public safety and immigration policy remains a focal point for both parties.

As these issues continue to play out on the national stage, the voices of individuals affected by policies will likely be heard louder, influencing both public perception and policy direction.
