Two journalists waiting for Donald Trump at federal courthouse caught joking about his assassination

Two journalists awaiting former President Donald Trump's appearance at a federal courthouse were caught joking about his assassination, Breitbart reported. The unidentified pair were apparently unaware that a nearby camera was rolling.

Trump was to appear in a Washington, D.C. courthouse Tuesday to fight charges related to the Jan. 6, 2021, riot at the U.S. Capitol. Media members were stationed outside waiting for the moment when arguments would begin.

The pair began joking about the former president facing his demise in the same way as the late President John F. Kennedy. At one point, one of them suggested Trump should similarly ride in a convertible.

"You know what the worst part is? Even if he has his window open and he’s hanging out of it, he will be on the other side of the street," the first journalist said.

"I mean, if he’s driving, we’ve got a good shot!" the second person said. The first journalist picked up the thread of the macabre scenario.

"Yeah, if he’s driving with the front window open?" the first journalist quipped. The second journalist upped the ante.

"Yeah, or if it’s a convertible?" the second journalist said. Kennedy was shot as he rode in a 1961 Lincoln Continental convertible through Dealey Plaza in Dallas, Texas, on November 22, 1964.

"Yeah. I wasn’t thinking about that," the first journalist added. The second agreed, "Yeah. Like if he just pulls up–"

"Like JFK?" the first journalist interjected. That made the second journalist laugh.

"Maybe someone, just like they told JFK, “You know what you should do? You should take a convertible! It’s so nice out!" the first journalist said.

These supposedly impartial journalists were making dark jokes as Trump was due in court to appeal a lower court's decision that deemed him responsible for the events on Jan. 6, ABC News reported. A lower court had already determined that he did not have presidential immunity, as his attorneys argued.

On Tuesday, the three-judge panel at the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit heard the appeal case for that decision. Trump's legal team asserted that crimes could only be prosecuted for presidents through both chambers of Congress impeaching and convicting him.

Special counsel Jack Smith's team argued that it amounts to a president having the ability to commit any crime without penalty. After arguments were heard, Trump told reporters he did "nothing wrong" and that he was still "working for the country."

These hacks are celebrating the fact that Trump is engaged in a legal battle for his political future and can hardly contain their excitement that the federal judges were about to swarm the former president. It's no wonder nobody takes the leftists in the media seriously anymore.
