Tulsi Gabbard slams Democrats for political witch hunts against Donald Trump

Former President Donald Trump and most of his supporters -- and many non-supporters -- believe that the multiple legal situations he's facing at the hands of Democrats or Democrat-controlled agencies are meant to disrupt his 2024 presidential ambitions.

According to Breitbart, former Hawaii Rep. Tulsi Gabbard, who escaped the Democratic Party last year, recently warned of "an extremely dangerous precedent" being set by those in her former party when it comes to the prosecutorial actions taken against Trump, the leading Republican presidential candidate.

Gabbard accused the "elites" in the Dem Party of "abusing our justice system and the rule of law to go after their political opponents," a sentiment shared by many across the country.

She held nothing back in a recent X post, describing what she believes is happening "before our very eyes," as she said during a recent Fox News interview.

"By abusing our justice system and the rule of law to go after their political opponents, the Dem elite are not only sacrificing the foundation of our country and democracy for temporary political power, they’re setting an extremely dangerous precedent for whoever takes power next - they will not hesitate to do the same," Gabbard wrote.

She explained the precedent currently being set by Democrats who she believes have weaponized the system to destroy a powerful political opponent.

Gabbard said that Democrats are "so intent on undermining the rule of law and destroying our democracy in order to destroy President Biden’s major political opponent, they are setting this incredibly dangerous precedent that anyone who comes into power after this [they’ll] say 'hey, they did it before.'"

Providing a recent example of how the process is undermining Trump's 2024 campaign, Gabbard pointed out that instead of campaigning, as he should be allowed to do, Trump is instead having to spend time in court, and mountains of money in the process, to defend himself.

"Trump spent the day in court here in New York City instead of out campaigning, which is exactly where they want him," Gabbard explained, "where the New York Attorney General who campaigned on the fact that she would go and take down Trump."

"Well she’s carrying that out right now," the former presidential candidate added. "Interfer[ing] — using the rule of law — in order to interfere with our democracy."

In August, after another Trump indictment was announced, Gabbard slammed Biden and the Justice Department for its "latest tyrannical tactic to distract and drain resources from his main political adversary."

Polls have shown that it's not only Republicans who feel the same way. And it'll be fascinating to watch that play out at the election booth next year.
