Trump still waiting on appeal ruling in $454 million judgment

Donald Trump was ordered to pay a whopping $454 million settlement in his New York fraud case. Trump appealed the ruling, but he is still waiting for the results of that appeal.

Unfortunately, he has heard nothing since, and now the White House is worried that the final ruling is being held back for political reasons.

The order

As I noted when we were covering this case in real-time, Trump has no chance.

The case was stacked against him with a clearly biased judge and a jury in a state filled with liberals.

As we expected, Trump lost, ordered to pay $454 million, which included penalties to that point.

Trump, of course, appealed.

The appeal

In the appeal, Trump’s attorneys argued, "It violates centuries of New York case law holding that NYAG cannot sue to vindicate alleged violations that are purely private in nature -- and, in this case, do not exist at all.”

They continued, "There were no victims and no losses.

"If Appellants' conduct constituted 'fraud' under § 63(12), then that word has no meaning, and NYAG's power to seize and destroy private businesses is boundless -- and standardless."

The case was absurd, even bankers impacted by the alleged crimes were brought in and testified that they were quite happy with their relationship with Trump.

It’s getting political

Due to the location of the court, I believe Trump will not get relief until he goes to the Supreme Court, if the Court takes the case.

Part of the reason for that is that the panel is mostly Democrat loyalists, which includes Presiding Justice Dianne Renwick, who is a Hochul appointment and someone known to hand down partisan rulings.

It now appears that the ruling itself could be delayed because they believe the eventual verdict in the case will help Trump, with one legal expert stating, “This delay is creating the perception that the presiding judge is stalling the decision to prevent a favorable decision for the president.”

I believe no matter the verdict, Trump wins. If they deny his appeal, he gets to revive the weaponization of the legal system against him. And if he wins, he gets to say that he was proven right… the system was weaponized against him, but he ultimately prevails. So, yes, I agree, this ruling is being held up because the presiding liberal hack does not want to help Trump in any way, shape, or form.
