Trump says he would bomb Iran again over nuclear threat

Over the last week or so, there have been numerous reports regarding the success of the strike conducted against Iran’s nuclear sites.

A report that was leaked early with “low confidence” was pushed back on by the White House, but if it does happen to be true, Trump has shown no qualms about going back and hitting Iran again if it means blocking the country from having a nuclear weapon.

It Will Take Years to Rebuild

As we noted above, a report was leaked early, and even though we reported on it, I had stated at the time that everyone needed to pump the brakes on anything they were reading at that point because it was far too early to get a true assessment.

Even now, I believe it is too early to take any report to heart, but CIA Director John Ratcliffe did announce a trusted source has reported significant damage, a report that was confirmed by Israel and some Iranian officials.

Ratcliffe stated, "This includes new intelligence from a historically reliable and accurate source/method that several key Iranian nuclear facilities were destroyed and would have to be rebuilt over the course of years.”

Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth also issued words of caution, stating it would be weeks before they knew the true impact of these strikes. However, he also noted that it appears that these facilities suffered heavy damage.

Dems Question Impact of Strikes

In previous years, Democrat or Republican, members of Congress would rally behind the president, but Democrats are trying to undermine Trump at every opportunity.

To that point, numerous Senate Democrats are questioning how much damage was done during the strike.

For instance, Senator Chris Murphy (D-CT) stated, "The president was deliberately misleading the public when he said the program was obliterated. It is certain that there is still significant capability, significant equipment that remain.”

He later added, "There are still people in Iran who how to work centrifuges. And if they still have enriched uranium and they still have the ability to use centrifuges, then you're not setting back the program by years. You're setting back the program by months."

I’ll Bomb It Again

While Murphy may be right about the scientist narrative, he is acting as though Iran can rebuild these facilities by snapping their fingers, and that simply is not so. Furthermore, Trump can squeeze the country with sanctions to ensure it does not have the funding to take rebuild, at least anytime soon.

Regardless, Trump assured everyone last week that if Iran chooses to go down this route, he will bomb the country again.

When Trump was asked if he would strike again under another nuclear threat, he stated, "Sure. Without question, absolutely.”

Trump is now asking Iran to come to the table to work out a peace deal with Israel as well as a nuclear deal to ensure this country does not have a nuclear weapon, and it sounds as though Iran is finally ready to come aboard, regardless of the posturing by its Supreme Leader. For once, it would be nice to see Dems on the side of the United States rather than our enemies, but that party has taken a hard left turn, and I am not sure it will ever come back to anything remotely close to the center.
