If we go back to the first Trump administration, the country was rocked when an “anonymous” op-ed showed up in The New York Times.
The same author released a book called “A Warning.” Now that we know who the individual is, Trump says he believes the man is guilty of treason.
On September 5, 2018, the country was taken by storm when an anonymous author who claimed to be a member of the Trump administration penned an op-ed in The New York Times.
The piece was titled “I Am Part of the Resistance Inside the Trump Administration.”
According to the author, he was a current member of the administration, but he and others in the administration were allegedly working to block Trump’s agenda from within.
The article concluded, “There is a quiet resistance within the administration of people choosing to put country first. But the real difference will be made by everyday citizens rising above politics, reaching across the aisle and resolving to shed the labels in favor of a single one: Americans.”
In 2019, a book was published by the same person, still using the “anonymous” author tag, called “A Warning.”
The book followed the op-ed, claiming that the administration was in complete turmoil, with talks of using the 25th Amendment to remove Trump from office.
Among other alleged observances of Trump, the author claimed that Trump "stumbles, slurs, gets confused, is easily irritated, and has trouble synthesizing information.”
The author has since been identified, and Trump is out for revenge.
The former staffer has since been identified as Miles Taylor, who was the Chief of Staff for the Department of Homeland Security from February 2019 to September 2019.
Trump now wants the DOJ to investigate him, stating, “I think he’s guilty of treason, if you want to know the truth, but we’ll find out … terrible guy.”
Trump continued, “It’s like a traitor, it’s like spying. He walks into the office. He’s supposed to be sitting here He wrote a book ‘Anonymous’, and I always thought it was terrible — and now we have a chance to find out whether or not it was terrible — but it was, it was a work of fiction and he got a lot of publicity, got himself a nice job with CNN or one of them. And I think we have to do something about it.”
When Taylor was finally outed, the letdown was noticeable, as the media and Democrats were hoping this was someone embedded in Trump’s inner circle, but that was clearly not the case, as Taylor was a fringe player, at best.
