The fallout from the days following Trump's loss continues to impact the relationship between the two conservative leaders. Trump and Pence both may run separately for president in 2024, with each of them building a network behind the scenes for a potential White House bid.
The controversy may continue to divide voters in the future as well. Some will side with Trump's defiant stance, while others will prefer Pence's more balanced approach in responding to the politics of the Biden administration after two years of turmoil in the White House.
