The sports world was nothing short of completely stunned this week when it was announced that the PGA Tour will merge with LIV Golf.
It was a merger nobody saw coming -- except former President Donald Trump. According to Breitbart, Trump accurately predicted the future merger of the two major golf leagues, and warned the players who didn't join LIV at the time would have substantial financial regrets.
"All of those golfers that remain ‘loyal’ to the very disloyal PGA, in all of its different forms, will pay a big price when the inevitable MERGER with LIV comes, and you get nothing but a big ‘thank you’ from PGA officials who are making Millions of Dollars a year," Trump said previously.
He added: "If you don’t take the money now, you will get nothing after the merger takes place."
And boy, was he right.
LIV Golf was highly controversial upon its formation and even afterward, as the league, backed in part by Saudi Arabia's unlimited supply of money, offered incredible sums to some of the biggest names in the sport.
Massive contracts were offered and some of the game's biggest names capitalized on the situation, and some didn't.
Some of the LIV offers that were rumoured to have been rejected by players:
Tiger $800m
Hideki $400m
Rahm $300m
Willy Z $130m
Sam Burns $100mI wonder how these guys feel right now 😕

The golfers who seized the opportunity at the time did so under the threat of being shunned from the old guard PGA Tour league. The money was simply more important, and it would be difficult to blame them.
But now it seems to have turned out just fine for the pros who went to LIV, if not one of the best decisions of their lives.
For Trump's part, he took a victory lap after news of the merger broke, reminding everyone that he knew it was coming all along.
"GREAT NEWS FROM LIV GOLF. A BIG, BEAUTIFUL, AND GLAMOROUS DEAL FOR THE WONDERFUL WORLD OF GOLF. CONGRATS TO ALL!!!,” Trump said on Truth Social.
He added: "Isn’t that what you want for President, somebody that can predict the future? This seems to be the hot story, but it was my great honor to help. A merger like no other!"
The two leagues will join under a different name, which has yet to be announced.
