Trump praised after blockbuster Supreme Court rulings

Former President Donald Trump is receiving high praise from his fellow Republicans for some of the U.S. Supreme Court's recent high-profile decisions.

This, of course, is because Trump, during his presidency, significantly changed the makeup of the high court with his three Supreme Court nominations: Justices Neil Gorsuch, Brett Kavanaugh, and Amy Coney Barrett. The result is a court with a 6 to 3 conservative majority.

This prompted Judicial Crisis Network President Carrie Severino to recently refer to the current Supreme Court as the "best in living memory."

Severino told Breitbart News:

This is the best Supreme Court in living memory, rolling back activist decisions like Roe v. Wade, enforcing Second Amendment rights, and striking down unconstitutional racial preferences. That’s thanks to a President who made it a priority to nominate principled originalists with the courage of their convictions, and a Senate that was willing to fight for the confirmations of those nominees.

The first decision that Severino referred to is Dobbs v. Jackson Women's Health Organization. In this case, the justices struck down the pro-abortion case Roe v. Wade, returning the controversial issue of whether abortion ought to be legal to the people and their state representatives.

A major Second Amendment case decided by the court is New York State Rifle & Pistol Association, Inc. v. Bruen. Here, the justices ruled that the government must demonstrate that a gun control measure is consistent with America's historical tradition of firearm regulation for such a measure to be upheld.

More recently, near the close of its term, the Supreme Court made three additional blockbuster rulings.

For one, the justices struck down the use of race by colleges and universities in their admissions practices. Then, the justices struck down Biden's student loan handout. And, finally, the justices ruled that a graphic designer does not have to create websites for same-sex marriages.

All of these decisions were made possible by Trump's three nominations to the Supreme Court. To put it differently, these decisions would not have happened but for Trump.

This is why Trump is now being praised.

U.S. Sen. Steve Daines (R-MT), the chairman of the National Republican Senatorial Committee (NRSC), told Breitbart:

President Trump’s selection of three constitutional conservative justices was pivotal to the huge victories we are seeing now. I strongly supported these justices as it was high time the Supreme Court moved from serving liberal whims as another legislative branch of government and instead started following the Constitution as our Founders intended.

Something worth pointing out is that all of Trump's Supreme Court nominees are in their 50s, meaning that the court could have a conservative majority for many years to come.

U.S. Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) said this about Trump's nominees:

This Supreme Court, ladies, and gentlemen, has made history, and you ought to be damn proud of it. This is the most conservative court in my lifetime because of Donald Trump.

Graham added, "And, I can promise you this: when it comes to Donald Trump, the best is yet to come.”
