Trump plans big week to celebrate first 100 days in office

April 29, 2025, will be Donald Trump’s 100th day in office.

As Trump is known to do, he plans on doing it big, announcing a massive week of activities to mark what he says has been a very successful first 100 days in office.

Crashing Polls

Donald Trump has to do something to offset the negative polling he is seeing right now.

Numerous polls have been released over the last week, showing Trump at his lowest approval ratings of both terms, actually setting a record for the lowest 100-day approval ratings in roughly eight decades (the previous low was held by Trump in 2017).

Considering Trump’s numbers after taking office, the sub-40% approval rating even shocked me.

Trump took the news as we would expect, calling the polls “fake news” and saying that the pollsters are out to get him.

Going to Michigan

Part of Trump’s big week will involve traveling to Michigan, a key battleground state that helped Trump defeat Harris.

The White House announced, "President Trump is excited to return to the great state of Michigan next Tuesday, where he will rally in Macomb County to celebrate the FIRST 100 DAYS!"

Trump has decided to legislate this term by executive order, issuing at least 137 orders within his first 100 days, far more than any president in modern history.

Most of those orders, however, have been challenged, with many of those being defeated, so this has not been smooth sailing for Trump.

War and Trade

Trump needs the war between Ukraine and Russia to end, and he appears to have gotten a key concession from Zelensky when the two met in Rome during the Pope’s funeral.

Trump remains wary of Putin, however, stating, "It makes me think that maybe he doesn’t want to stop the war, he’s just tapping me along, and has to be dealt with differently, through ‘Banking’ or ‘Secondary Sanctions?’ Too many people are dying!!!"

Trump has also paused many of the reciprocal tariffs he had in place, claiming there are many new deals in the works. Secretary Bessent commented, "We had a very successful bilateral meeting with the Republic of South Korea today. We may be moving faster than I thought, and we will be talking technical terms as early as next week as we reach an agreement on understanding as soon as next week."

Two more stops for Trump this week will be at the University of Alabama and West Point, where Trump is scheduled to give commencement speeches. Trump needs to take advantage of every one of these events to get this cycle turned around because right now, he is getting crushed in the media.
