Trump launches grand White House ballroom with patriot donations

President Donald Trump just kicked off a jaw-dropping project to build a massive new ballroom at the White House, promising to elevate state events to a level of grandeur we’ve never seen.

This ambitious endeavor, which started with demolition on Monday, October 20, 2025, involves constructing a 90,000-square-foot ballroom in a modernized East Wing, fully funded by private donors at no cost to taxpayers, with a price tag of $200 million and a completion goal before the end of Trump’s term.

The announcement came straight from the man himself on Monday, signaling the start of a long-dreamed-of addition to host state visits and grand gatherings.

Breaking ground on historic White House addition

Demolition began the same day in the East Wing, clearing space for this colossal project that will replace the current structure with something truly spectacular.

Unlike the current setup, where large tents are pitched far from the main entrance for major functions, this ballroom will provide a dedicated, elegant venue for official events and state dinners.

At 90,000 square feet, it’s set to seat around 650 guests, ensuring world leaders and dignitaries are honored in style, not under canvas.

Private funding fuels patriotic project

What’s refreshing here is the funding—entirely private, thanks to generous individuals, American companies, and Trump’s own contribution, keeping taxpayer dollars out of the equation.

“The White House Ballroom is being privately funded by many generous Patriots, Great American Companies, and, yours truly. This Ballroom will be happily used for Generations to come!” Trump declared on Truth Social, and honestly, it’s hard to argue with a project that costs us nothing but promises lasting value.

While some might scoff at the $200 million cost, let’s remember this isn’t coming from public coffers—it’s a gift from those who believe in America’s image on the world stage.

Design and team behind the vision

The design, handled by McCrery Architects, sticks to the White House’s classical aesthetic, ensuring the new space blends seamlessly with history while offering modern utility.

Clark Construction is leading the build, with AECOM providing engineering expertise, and the Secret Service stepping in to secure the site during construction.

This isn’t Trump’s first rodeo with enhancing the White House grounds—earlier this year, he personally funded two towering 88-foot American flags, each costing $50,000, proving his commitment to patriotic symbolism.

Addressing a long-standing need

For too long, the White House has lacked a proper ballroom, a glaring gap for a nation that hosts global leaders and ceremonial events, often resorting to temporary setups that lack dignity.

“The White House is currently unable to host major functions honoring world leaders in other countries without having to install a large and unsightly tent approximately 100 yards away from the main building's entrance,” White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt noted, and she’s spot on—America deserves better than a glorified campsite for diplomacy.

While progressive critics might grumble about priorities, let’s be real: a dedicated space for statecraft isn’t extravagance, it’s necessity, and getting it done without burdening taxpayers is a win for common-sense governance.
