Trump catches supporters off-guard with defense of Bud Light brand

Anheuser-Busch might have caught a massive financial break thanks to former President Donald Trump.

According to Fox Business, Trump recently defended the company and insisted that while it made a massive mistake in promoting the influencer that essentially crashed the brand's bottom line, it's not a "woke" company overall.

Trump rhetorically questioned if Bud Light deserved a "second chance" in a Truth Social post that caught many of his followers off-guard.

He also threatened to release a "list" of woke companies that conservatives can target, though it was unclear at this time which companies to which he was referring.

"The Bud Light ad was a mistake of epic proportions, and for that a very big price was paid, but Anheuser-Busch is not a Woke company, but I can give you plenty that are, am building a list, and might just release it for the World to see," Trump's post read.

The former president went on to praise the beermaker for supporting farmers, veterans, and other patriotic missions.

Trump continued, "Why not, the Radical Left does it viciously to well run, Conservative companies - and people! Very nasty, but it’s the way they play the game! On the other hand, Anheuser-Busch spends $700 Million a year with our GREAT Farmers, employ 65 thousand Americans, of which 1,500 are Veterans, and is a Founding Corporate Partner of Folds of Honor, which provides Scholarships for families of fallen Servicemen & Women."

"They’ve raised over $30,000,000 and given 44,000 Scholarships. Anheuser-Busch is a Great American Brand that perhaps deserves a Second Chance? What do you think? Perhaps, instead, we should be going after those companies that are looking to DESTROY AMERICA!"

His statement was surprising, but several media outlets, including Fox News, noted that Trump's remarks came just a month before an Anheuser-Busch lobbyist is set to throw him a fundraiser.

Fox News noted:

It also came shortly before Jeff Miller, a Washington, D.C.-based lobbyist representing Anheuser-Busch, is slated to host a fundraiser for him next month.

According to Politico, which first reported the event, Miller's fundraiser for Trump includes some tickets for $10,000 apiece. The lobbyist announced the event on social media Tuesday.

Several polls popped up across X asking Trump's supporters if the former president's defense of Bud Light changed their minds. Most of them indicated strongly that it hadn't.

Fox News and others reached to both Trump and the beer company for comment, but neither had responded at the time of this writing.

Only time will tell if Trump's words put Bud Light back in the good graces of conservative America, or damage his image with conservatives. Trump hitching his wagon to a mega-corporation who tried to ram the liberal agenda down American's throats isn't a good look.
