Donald Trump buys ice cream, crowd goes wild

Former President Donald Trump stopped at an ice cream shop in Los Angeles, California, on Friday, and his supporters loved it.

Here is one of several videos that have been posted online of Trump's stop:

The former president made the stop at the Carvel Ice Cream Shop in Los Angeles after he gave a 2024 campaign speech at the California GOP's Fall Convention, which took place in Anaheim, California.

Trump continues to dominate the polls for the 2024 Republican presidential primary, making him the clear frontrunner to win the party's presidential nomination in 2024. Real Clear Politics currently has Trump leading his next closest rival - Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) - by, on average, 43.9 percentage points. Trump's lead is even bigger on some individual polls.

This means that Trump is a virtual certainty to face off against President Joe Biden in the 2024 general election, assuming that Biden does end up being the Democrats' candidate. Real Clear Politics has Trump slightly ahead in the Trump-Biden matchup.

Despite all of Trump's success in the polls, it is unlikely that the former president, during the 2024 election season, is going to have much success in California, which is a deep blue state.

Trump, nonetheless, made a campaign stop there this past week. And, it has to be said that Trump, during his California stop, drew large crowds of very enthusiastic supporters - as he usually does no matter where he goes.

Here is another video from Trump's stop at Carvel. This one shows the moment when Trump arrived at the ice cream shop. It also shows the crowd that had gathered, the crowd's reception of Trump, and Trump's interaction with the crowd.

Finally, here is the video of Trump entering the ice cream shop:

Inside the shop, Trump asked those in attendance, "Who wants a Carvel?" It appears that Trump decided to buy ice cream for his supporters. It is unclear, however, if the former president bought any ice cream for himself.

The reader may remember that the mainstream media, during Trump's presidency, was obsessed with his diet, especially his ice cream intake. In early January 2020, Fox News reported:

CNN is apparently interested in another kind of scoop these days. The network's continuing obsession with President Trump’s ice cream intake resurfaced on Friday when the network reported that the sugary treat was served as news broke that Iranian Gen. Qassem Soleimani was killed by a U.S. airstrike.
