The last two weeks have been dominated by reports from Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbars, who said she had dozens of documents that showed Obama and his top officials formulated the narrative of Russian collusion with Trump.
Trump believes the immunity ruling by the Supreme Court will help Obama avoid prosecution, but he is 100% wrong in this case.
In the presidential immunity case, everyone seemed to lose their minds, including the liberal side of the bench.
One justice claimed that Trump could order a SEAL team to take out a political rival and there would be nothing that could be done to him, but that was beyond a stretch of the truth.
In reality, all the court did was put all the previous rulings in one package.
Basically, presidents were immune from prosecution for all official acts as president, which is key to all of this. Official does not mean a treasonous scheme or any personal issues. Trump’s issues were all personal business, while Obama’s actions were clearly weaponizing the government, such as what Nixon did during Watergate, so he would be held responsible if Gabbard’s account is accurate.
John Brennan, who served as Obama’s CIA Director, is one of those who would get indicted if Gabbard’s report is accurate.
Of course, he pushed back, talking about how dangerous it was for these officials to be investigating him, which has made me more confident than ever that Gabbard is right.
Brennan stated, “Well, you know, the allegations and the conspiracy theories by Tulsi Gabbard would be sad if they weren’t so dangerous.
“She has turned herself into basically a weapon of mass distraction, is what I’ve been calling it, because it’s very clear what’s happening here. She’s trying to curry favor and get back into favor with Donald Trump, and has concocted these theories to do so.”
When Donald Trump was asked about the immunity ruling in terms of Gabbard’s report, he responded, "It probably helps him a lot. Probably helps a lot. The immunity ruling, but it doesn't help the people around him at all. But it probably helps him a lot.
"He's done criminal acts, there’s no question about it. But he has immunity, and it probably helps him a lot... he owes me big, Obama owes me big."
Again, he does not have immunity for criminal acts, and I don’t understand why the media, Trump, and just about every journalist pretends that presidential immunity is a license to do whatever you want, because it is not.
Immunity is meant for times when a bombing goes bad by accident, such as Obama not being charged when a strike was ordered against a wedding party in the Middle East. Basically, it covers honest mistakes, not acts that are a clear violation of the law, and weaponizing our intelligence to take out a political opponent is clearly illegal and would be prosecuted. I simply don’t understand why Trump does not grasp this concept.
