There are times when I see a report about some type of support being canceled, and I cannot help but wonder why it took so long to happen.
That is exactly the case regarding a report that just surfaced regarding benefits for illegals who are on the terror watchlist.
When Donald Trump was running for office, he made it clear that he was declaring war on illegal immigration.
The media, however, painted him as the bad man, as though Trump were ending immigration altogether.
For instance, an ABC News piece on the subject started out, “Immigration has always been the lifeblood of America, helping to create a unique melting pot of culture and history.”
The report went on to outline how Trump’s immigration policies were having a rippling impact around the nation, all the while forgetting to mention that entering this country illegally is actually a crime.
Illegal immigrants are not supposed to have access to entitlement programs funded with taxpayer dollars, but Joe Biden found a way to go around the system.
Joe Biden used loopholes, such as extending parole, greasing the way for asylum, and the infamous CBP app, which then allowed illegal immigrants to start collecting benefits meant for citizens and legal residents.
Some of the programs they used were SNAP, child nutrition programs, TANF, and SSI, just to name a few.
A recent government report estimated that by 2034, benefits for these migrants would exceed $175 billion.
Now, if you ask me, I think the system needs to be fixed to ensure no illegals receive any benefits, but I guess I should be happy that Trump is getting the ball rolling by stripping benefits for migrants on the terror watchlist.
Something in my head tells me this never even should have been a consideration, but we are talking about the Biden administration, after all. A Trump administration official explained, “Among the 6.3k paroled aliens with criminal or terrorist records, 905 were collecting Medicaid (including 4 on the terrorist watch list). $276,000 was paid out.Forty-one were collecting Unemployment Insurance, receiving $42,000 in benefits. 22 received federal student loans totaling $280,000.”
A senior Department of Homeland Security official added, “They allowed more than half a million loosely vetted aliens from Cuba, Haiti, Nicaragua, and Venezuela and their immediate family members to enter the United States through these disastrous parole programs; granted them opportunities to compete for American jobs and undercut American workers; forced career civil servants to promote the programs even when fraud was identified; and then blamed Republicans in Congress for the chaos that ensued and the crime that followed.”
How were Democrats okay with any of this when Biden was in office? I have stated it many times, but it needs to be said again… anyone who thinks that Democrats have the welfare of law-abiding legal residents and citizens of this country at the top of their list needs to have their head examined. Republicans are far from perfect, but at least they are attempting to look out for Americans. What Democrats were and are doing is criminal.
