The assassination of Charlie Kirk was horrific, but his widow, Erika, vowed to keep his legacy alive after his death. She took on a leadership role at Turning Point USA (TPUSA), and chapter applications blew up.
Unfortunately, Kirk is having problems getting new chapters approved at some schools, with one California university declining the chapter three times.
Charlie Kirk apparently had a plan in place just in case something were to happen to him.
After his assassination, that plan was put into play, and that was for Erika Kirk to take over, which she did after the TPUSA board voted her in as its new chief executive and chair of the board.
In what were some of her first comments after Charlie’s death, she stated, “I’ll make Turning Point USA the biggest thing that this nation has ever seen. I promise.”
She would have her hands full immediately, as membership applications exploded.
After Kirk’s death, interest among conservative students at universities went through the roof.
Andrew Kolvet, executive producer of "The Charlie Kirk Show," revealed that TPUSA had received 60,000 requests to start new chapters at high schools and colleges around the country.
All in, there were a little more than 2,000 chapters around the country when Kirk died, so this was something that nobody could have seen coming.
If anyone thought killing Charlie would make conservatives wilt and hide, they have no idea as to our makeup.
Students at Point Loma Nazarene University in San Diego were hoping to be the newest TPUSA chapter, but they have been denied not once, not twice, but three times.
The Associated Student Body (ASB) Board of Directors turned them down, with university President Kerry Fulcher writing to them, “While the applicants indicated they would not participate in the watchlist, their application included phrasing that mirrors language used on TPUSA’s website in connection with it. That practice is not aligned with ASB’s purpose of fostering constructive communication and interaction between students, faculty, and administration.”
The ”watchlist” referred to in the email is a professor’s watchlist, which TPUSA says is to expose teachers who are discriminating against conservative students.
Ironically, while the school refuses to allow a conservative student organization, it is loaded with liberals organizations promoting social justice and gender ideology. Honestly, after reading about the school, it is hard to believe any conservative students can peacefully exist there.
