Former President Barack Obama is supposedly untouchable, thanks to a Supreme Court ruling, according to CNN's technologically gifted Jeffrey Toobin.
Breitbart reported that Toobin laid out his case on "Anderson Cooper 360," explaining how the court’s decision last year in Trump v. The United States grants immunity for presidential acts.
Toobin claims that this shield now protects Obama from any prosecution, even if he committed a crime, which is what the Trump administration alleges with new bombshell evidence.
The Supreme Court’s ruling ensures former presidents can’t be prosecuted for official acts. Toobin called the idea of investigating Obama “absurd on so many levels.”

Guest-host John Berman pointed out that four minutes of airtime were spent dissecting remarks from Tulsi Gabbard, the Director of National Intelligence, and the press secretary. It's no surprise to see leftist CNN talking heads trying to spin these bombshell allegations.
“It seems like it’s a lot,” Toobin said about the distraction angle. Of course, there is a lot going on as the DOJ is presenting evidence that the Obama administration actively worked to stop a political opponent's presidential campaign.
However, the question is how the Supreme Court’s decision in Trump v. The United States will factor into a potential push to prosecute Obama.
Toobin seems overly confident in his defense of Obama saying, “Even if he committed a crime, which there’s no evidence that he did, he couldn’t be prosecuted,” he said. Of course, there are no certainties in the American legal system.
Trump's supporters are chomping at the bit to see Obama prosecuted after years of hearing about the Russian collusion hoax. Obama used the DOJ to fabricate a political cudgel against Trump, and that cannot be allowed to go unpunished.
Two things can be true at the same time: Trump needs to end the focus on Epstein, and he needs to go after Obama for the crimes that have been covered up for nearly ten years.
Toobin may be correct that Trump is distracting Americans from the unpleasant Epstein story, but he couldn't have a better distraction than pushing to prosecute an old enemy and a figure that has become reviled by millions of Americans.
Toobin admitted he lacks insight into Trump’s political strategy. “I’m not a political analyst,” he said. Worse, Toobin is not only not a political analyst, but he's an ideologue protecting his side regardless of the facts.
It's possible the Supreme Court's immunity ruling may protect Obama, but it will take a lengthy legal battle to get there, one which will no doubt unearth some unpleasant truths about America's 44th president.
