Steve Bannon says Elon Musk should be deported amid dispute with Trump

MAGA turning on Elon Musk was about as easy to predict as the sun coming up in the morning.

After Musk and President Donald Trump squared off on social media, longtime MAGA loyalist Steve Bannon suggested that the tech billionaire was in the country illegally and should be deported, an assertion which is utterly ridiculous.

Taking sides

Musk got this feud started by criticizing Trump’s “big, beautiful bill,” posting to X, "I’m sorry, but I just can’t stand it anymore. This massive, outrageous, pork-filled Congressional spending bill is a disgusting abomination. Shame on those who voted for it: you know you did wrong. You know it.”

This started a vicious back-and-forth between Trump and Musk, which was more likely Steven Cheung and Musk, and it got ugly really quick. After Musk made the allegation that Trump is in the Epstein files, it forced Republicans to choose a side.

Sen. John Cornyn (R-TX) posted, "Everybody believes, or understands, I should say, that the federal government is too big and too bloated and inefficient, and Elon and DOGE was very effective, I thought, at pointing out some of the most egregious examples of that.”

Sen. Roger Marshall (R-KS) took a bit of a different approach, stating, "What Elon doesn't realize is that he's not the CEO here. Working for Congress, working for the people back home is so much different than being a CEO. [When] you're a CEO, you tell people jump, they say, ‘How high do you got to go?’ But President Trump is working with a board."

Dems jump in

Musk’s criticisms of the government are fair. While Marshall defended Congress as the board, if the United States were a real business, every member of that board would have already been fired because the “business” would have been bankrupted several times over with $36 trillion in debt and growing every day.

Dems jumped all over this little feud, and they now appear ready to try to lure Musk over to their party.

Rep. Ro Khanna (D-CA), who I believe is a dark-horse candidate for Democrats in 2028 and someone who could be very dangerous for the GOP if he runs, is now suggesting the party start to woo Musk and get him on board.

Khanna stated, “We should ultimately be trying to convince him that the Democratic Party has more of the values that he agrees with. A commitment to science funding, a commitment to clean technology, a commitment to seeing international students like him.”

Bannon lashes out

The moment Musk went after Trump, I told my friends that it was only a matter of time before MAGA turned on Musk and the president tried to take credit for any of his former friend's accomplishments.

Just a few hours after I stated that, Trump said he had “helped” Musk considerably and that Musk was “wearing thin” and that the president asked him to leave, which is all 100% untrue. This is just the standard playbook from Trump after he has a falling out with someone, and it is as predictable as the sun coming up in the east and setting in the west.

Bannon then led his own charge against Musk, suggesting that Trump take over his business and kick him out of the country, stating, “The action that President Trump should be taking immediately, I think, is when [Musk] threatens to take one of the big programs out of Space X, President Trump tonight should sign an executive order calling for the Defense Production Act to be called in on SpaceX and seize SpaceX tonight, before midnight.” He added, “They should initiate a formal investigation of his immigration status, because I am of the strong belief that he is an illegal alien, and he should be deported from the country immediately.”

Read those words before you criticize me for what I am about to say. Trump had a disagreement with someone, and one of his top confidants then suggested the government take over his business and have the man removed from the country. I truly hope Trump does not take his suggestion because that is not how the country we love works and was meant to operate. What Bannon is suggesting would be the actions of a king or a dictator, which is the exact narrative Dems have been pitching about Trump and could continue to pitch if this actually happens. He, quite possibly, just gave Trump the worst advice ever. How about everyone just take a deep breath, and we let things come down from a full boil to a slight simmer before they open their mouths again?
