Stacey Abrams, who failed to win two gubernatorial elections, made quite the scene after her first loss, even launching a statewide campaign to essentially convince voters that the election was stolen from her and that she was the rightful winner.
Notably, Abrams was never arrested or faced even the slightest notion of any consequences as a result of her claims, unlike former President Donald Trump, who now faces multiple state and federal indictments, with two of them focusing on claims he made following the 2020 election.
As Breitbart's Joel Pollak pointed out, Abrams is a free woman to this day,
Truthfully, she should be, because she simply expressed her First Amendment rights at the time.
Trump, on the other hand, is still free, but facing over 700 years in prison if convicted of the charges he faces, many of which center around his thoughts and words following the 2020 election. It's no wonder people believe strongly that a double standard is at play.

Pollak noted:
The indictment, however, describes “acts” furthering the “conspiracy” that largely consist of public statements, protests, claims at hearings, and even posts on social media — the very same kinds of actions and statements Abrams and her allies made for years.
He added:
Like Trump and his associates, Abrams made her claims of a stolen election repeatedly, from public platforms (and appears to have believed them). Like Trump, Abrams enlisted the help of political allies — and, worse, other elected Democratic officials.
Pollak tweeted, "If it's a crime in Georgia to claim, falsely, that an election was "stolen," how is @staceyabrams not in prison?"

Pollak noted that Abrams hasn't been charged, nor has anyone else for spreading false information regarding the Russia collusion hoax and long list of other disinformation campaigns.
Trump, his supporters, and a long list of high-profile politicians have agreed that the indictments Trump faces are purely political in nature.
They claim the indictments are simply meant to hamstring his campaign efforts for the 2024 election by draining his war chest and time, which he now has to dedicated to fighting legal battles on multiple fronts.
Only time will tell if Abrams faces similar consequences for her words following her election losses, but given that she has a (D) behind her name, it's not likely.
