Slipknot’s Sid Wilson Hospitalized with Severe Burns After Farm Bonfire Incident

Slipknot's Sid Wilson, 47, was rushed to the hospital on Friday after suffering serious burns in a bonfire explosion on his farm in Iowa. The incident left the musician with severe injuries to his face and arms, leading to his immediate hospitalization.

Breitbart reported that despite the gravity of his injuries, Wilson has assured fans that he plans to join his band for their upcoming performance at the Rocklahoma festival next weekend.

Wilson's injury occurred when remnants of a bonfire he had burned the previous night exploded unexpectedly.

The explosion left Wilson with significant burns, forcing him to seek medical attention quickly.

In a video posted from his hospital bed, the Slipknot turntablist informed fans about his condition, stating that he was "OK" and would eventually recover from the ordeal.

Wilson Provides Update from Hospital Bed

In the Instagram video, Wilson appeared lying in a hospital bed as medical staff attended to his wounds. He candidly shared the extent of his injuries, revealing that he had sustained "serious burns" to his face and arms.

Despite the alarming nature of the situation, Wilson maintained a positive outlook, reassuring his followers that he was "in good hands."

Wilson's girlfriend, British singer Kelly Osbourne, was by his side during the ordeal. Osbourne took to social media to warn others about the dangers of burn piles, sharing the harrowing experience with her followers.

“This is why you don’t f*** with burn piles,” Osbourne stated in a video recorded from Wilson’s hospital room. “He literally set himself on fire, exploded everything.”

Following initial treatment, Wilson was transferred to a specialist facility to receive further care for his burns. In a follow-up video, Wilson expressed his gratitude for the medical attention he had received, stating that he was "pretty good" and that he felt confident about his recovery.

The explosion that caused Wilson’s injuries occurred when remnants of a bonfire he had set the previous night unexpectedly reignited. The details surrounding how the fire reignited remain unclear, but the incident serves as a stark reminder of the potential dangers associated with burn piles, particularly when not fully extinguished.

Slipknot Plans to Proceed with Tour

Despite the severity of Wilson’s injuries, Slipknot has announced that they plan to proceed with their scheduled performance at the Rocklahoma festival next weekend.

The band issued a statement confirming that Wilson intends to join them on stage, although it remains to be seen how his injuries might impact his performance.

Slipknot’s upcoming performance at Rocklahoma is part of a larger global tour scheduled to kick off in September. The tour includes dates across the U.S., South America, and Europe, making Wilson’s participation all the more significant.

Fans of the band are eager to see how the musician will fare on stage following such a traumatic event.

Kelly Osbourne has been vocal about the incident, using it as an opportunity to educate others about fire safety.

In her video, she emphasized the importance of proper precautions when dealing with burn piles, highlighting the severe consequences that can arise if they are not handled with care.

Osbourne’s concern for Wilson’s well-being was evident, as she remained by his side throughout the ordeal. Her warnings to others come from a place of experience, as she witnessed firsthand the dangers that can accompany such accidents.
