A popular 1980s singer found herself in hot water over the weekend after an embarrassing incident on an airplane. 

According to Deadline, singer Samantha Fox was arrested "for an alleged drunken disturbance on a plane bound for Munich from London’s Heathrow airport."

Fox reportedly got into a dispute with another passenger on a British Airways flight already on the runway. Due to the incident, the plane was returned to the gate.

The passengers were forced to deboard the plane and were put up in hotels to catch the flight the next day.

Police reports indicated that authorities responded to a "woman in her 50s "on suspicion of being drunk on board an aircraft."

After spending the night in jail, Fox released a statement saying she was being cooperative with the investigation and was "deeply sorry for any disruption caused."

Fox first came to public attention as a Page 3 girl in the Sun UK tabloid, where she appeared regularly as a prominent sex symbol from 1983 until 1986. She released her first album in 1986 for Jive Records, and the song Touch Me (I Want Your Body) became a top-10 hit across Europe, North America, and Australia, reaching number one in several countries.

Fox made headlines briefly last year after it was reported that her sister suddenly died of a heart attack at age 50. The two were reportedly very close.

Her 2017 autobiography revealed just how close they were, as Fox recalled a situation in which her sister, Vanessa, saved her from her drunken, violent father.

"I thought he was going to kill me and begged him to stop. When I tried to get up he kicked me so hard in the stomach it winded me and he wouldn’t stop," the singer recalled at the time, according to the New York Post.

She added, "My sister Vanessa heard what was going on and jumped on his back to get him off me."

Her sister passed just after Fox wrapped up filming for Celebrity MasterChef. She commented on it at the time.

"I’d practised [for MasterChef] for a good couple of weeks with my sister as my sister is a fantastic cook. She’s always done the best Cottage Pie ever and so we practised together and I taped it – she’s my younger sister, you can hear her bossing me around and going ‘you’ve got to clear as you go, clear as you go! Unfortunately, I lost my sister just after the filming of MasterChef," Fox said at the time.
