Substance abuse rumors have surrounded Elon Musk since I can remember, but I have always written them off as silly gossip.
This time, however, a report has been published offering up detailed insider accounts, and the media is pouncing.
While rumors have always surrounded Musk, they got kicked into high gear when Seth Abramson posted something on X about Musk.
He wrote, “I'm a Musk biographer who has been tracking his online behavior for the last two years – and given that he’s admitted mental illness, heavy drug use, and crippling stress, it is now reasonable to fear he is deeply unwell.”
Now, that post was made in January, so again, there were questions about its authenticity since Musk was joining the Trump administration.
Was this a hit job for a liberal whack, or was this legitimate, and a reason for concern about Musk and his overall well-being?
Last week, the New York Times published a report on Musk that shook his world, claiming that Musk’s “intense” drug use led to significant health problems, which included bladder issues.
Part of the report latched on to an admission by Musk that he used Ketamine from time to time, as Musk had stated, “If you’ve used too much ketamine, you can’t really get work done, and I have a lot of work.” Musk had claimed that he did a “small amount” of the drug every two weeks to treat depressive moods.
The report came about just as Musk’s time in the Trump administration had come to a close due to time restrictions on special employees.
During that farewell, Musk stated, “As my scheduled time as a Special Government Employee comes to an end, I would like to thank President @realDonaldTrump for the opportunity to reduce wasteful spending. The @DOGE mission will only strengthen over time as it becomes a way of life throughout the government.”
The regular use of Ketamine can be quite damaging, but Musk has continuously denied that he abuses the drug. For instance, when Don Lemon asked him about abusing the drug, Musk replied, “I don’t think so.”
When Musk insiders stated that he had admitted to them that he was suffering from bladder problems, Dr. Ryan Marino, a toxicologist with the University Hospitals system in Cleveland, OH, chimed in, stating that these types of issues are commonplace among chronic users of ketamine. He stated, “While it is technically possible to develop this issue from using twice a month, it is much more common in people who use ketamine multiple times per week.”
Shari B. Kaplan, a Boca Raton, Florida-based licensed clinical social worker who is a ketamine expert, agreed, stating, “The clinical data and our observations suggest that significant bladder damage is usually correlated with frequent, high-dose use, often several times per week or daily.”
Musk refused to address the allegations during his Friday meeting at the White House, and his camp has been very quiet on the report. While there does seem to be some merit in the claims, I have given up on trusting unnamed sources in major publications because far too often, we see these claims disproved. What do you guys think? It this a hit job against Musk or does he really have an addiction problem?
