The narrative from the Democratic Party over the entirety of Donald Trump’s presidency to date is that he is a Nazi and a racist because he wants to secure our borders.
Trump has never said a word about legal immigration, but because he wants people to follow the law to enter this country, he is now enemy number one.
Once again, Sen. John Fetterman (D-PA) has crossed the party line, offering bold support for ICE, but he is not the only one turning heads with comments about Trump’s immigration stance.
Former Secretary of State and Climate Czar John Kerry just dropped a bit of a bombshell, admitting that Trump “was right” about the border.
Kerry really broke the party line, dinging Biden’s legacy in the process, stating, “Immigration. I said this very directly to President Biden that I think the Democrats have missed on the issue of immigration for some years… They just allowed the border to continue to be sieged, under siege."
He went on, “The first thing any president should say — any president, or anybody in public life, is, ‘Without a border protected you don’t have a nation.’ I believe that. To define your nation, you have to have a border that means something. And there’s a reason we have passports. There’s a reason we have visas. We have a system, and I wish President Biden had been heard more often saying, ‘Well I’m going to enforce the law.’”
Kerry then stated that the shame of it was that everyone should have been right, and I agree. Perhaps he should start talking to his fellow Democrats who insist that coming over the border illegally is not a crime.
Right now, Democrats are throwing everything they have at ICE, with people like Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz calling agents “Trump’s modern-day Gestapo.”
Fetterman is not buying into that, posting on X, “ICE performs an important job for our country. Any calls to abolish ICE are 100% inappropriate and outrageous.”
Maybe he should have a conversation with the likes of AOC, who is still fundraising on the idea of abolishing ICE.
He may also want to talk to his fellow Senate Democrats, who are about to present legislation to dox all ICE agents on raids.
While some in leadership of the Democratic Party are already jumping on the Zohran Mamdani bandwagon in New York City, Fetterman is not one of them.
When asked about the NYC mayoral candidate, he responded, “Everything that I’ve read on him, I don’t really agree with virtually any of it, politically. That’s just where I’m at as a Democrat. He’s not even a Democrat, honestly.”
Mamdani’s allies have also started a war with the House minority leader, so it will be really interesting to see if the DNC continues to support Mamdani, with Rep. Jeffries (D-NY) holding such a high-ranking legislative position.
Here’s the other thing… this makes it all but certain that Jeffries will not support Mamdani in the election, and he has a lot of pull with Democrats in the Big Apple. Now could be the time for current Mayor Eric Adams or former Gov. Andrew Cuomo to create an alliance to take out Mamdani in the general election.
