Secret Service Agent Dismissed For Misconduct At Obama's Hawaii Home

An exposé by an ex-girlfriend leads to a Secret Service agent's dismissal for breaching security protocols at a high-profile residence.

The Daily Mail reported that a recent book release has sparked widespread scrutiny of Secret Service protocols following a reported incident involving unauthorized access to Barack Obama's Hawaii residence.

In "Undercover Heartbreak: a Memoir of Trust and Trauma," Koryeah Dwanyen chronicles her tumultuous relationship with a Secret Service agent identified only as "Dale."

The book details several instances of misconduct, but one event at the former president's home stands out.

An Unsanctioned Visit to Obama's Residence

The incident occurred in 2022 when Dale took Dwanyen to Obama's private residence in Hawaii without authorization. During their visit, Dale showed her photographs of the home and made a shocking suggestion.

"We should have sex in Michelle [Obama]'s bathroom, like a mile-high club," Dale remarked, according to Dwanyen's account in her book.

This egregious breach of conduct led to Dale's immediate suspension and subsequent dismissal from the Secret Service. Anthony Guglielmi, the agency's Chief of Communications, confirmed the course of action.

"As soon as the Secret Service became aware of the incident, the agent involved was immediately suspended and after a full investigation, terminated," stated Guglielmi. He further emphasized the gravity of the breach, noting, "Although the protectees were not present at the time of the incident, these actions were an unacceptable violation of our protocols, our protectees' trust, and everything we stand for."

The ramifications of Dale's actions extend beyond his dismissal. Dwanyen's revelations in her memoir have ignited a larger debate over the security protocols of the Secret Service.

Uncovering a Pattern of Deception

Dwanyen describes Dale as a "serial liar," who often shared sensitive information about his assignments, including details about former Vice President Mike Pence. She was privy to code names and aspects of Michelle Obama's schedule, which are typically classified.

Recognizing the severity of the breaches, Dwanyen took it upon herself to report Dale to his superiors.

"There were major red flags—breaches of trust and of his job," she noted in her book.

The incident is part of a string of security failures associated with the Secret Service. An independent report released earlier highlighted several security lapses, including a close call involving a shooter at a rally for Donald Trump in Pennsylvania.

The report warns of the potential for future incidents without significant reforms to the Secret Service. It calls for a thorough overhaul of practices and protocols to prevent similar breaches.

Dwanyen's candid recount in her book has not only exposed the actions of one agent but has also cast a spotlight on the need for systemic changes within the Secret Service to ensure the safety and privacy of protected individuals.

The Obama family has not publicly commented on the incident. However, the revelations have undoubtedly affected the trust placed in those tasked with the safety of the nation's most high-profile figures.
