Schumer won’t rule out Trump impeachment if Dems take back Congress

Many people keep saying that Trump has four years to turn this around, but he does not.

From day one, I have stated that he has about 18 months before voters make up their minds regarding his success, which will determine who they vote for in 2026. The urgency on that just got turned up a notch.

Dems Want to Impeach Trump

The eternal thorn in Trump’s side, Rep. Al Green (D-TX), who knows how to do nothing except draw up impeachment papers, has already stated that he wants to impeach Trump again.

Green went after Trump back in February, stating, "Ethnic cleansing in Gaza is not a joke, especially when it emanates from the president of the United States.”

He added, "I rise to announce that the movement to impeach the president has begun. I rise to announce that I will bring articles of impeachment against the president for dastardly deeds proposed and dastardly deeds done."

I doubt Green will be able to get Trump on that, but the Dems have a real case regarding the January 6 defendants, and I would imagine those pardons will be called lending aid and comfort to an insurrectionist, and Dems might be able to find some support among moderate Republicans to oust Trump on that front.

Gaining Steam

Senator Jon Ossoff (D-GA) is now on the impeachment train, and that is creating more problems if the Dems manage to take back the Senate in 2026.

Ossoff stated, “I mean, I saw just 48 hours ago, he is granting audiences to people who buy his meme coin.

“When the sitting president of the United States is selling access for what are effectively payments directly to him. There is no question that that rises to the level of an impeachable offense.”

The Trump Organization is making money every way possible from this presidency, including selling “Trump 2028” merchandise, hinting that Trump will find a way to run again in 2028. None of this is helping Trump’s case.

Schumer Avoids Subject

Senator Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) was asked about all this impeachment talk, and he carefully sidestepped the question.

He responded, “Well, look, right now, President Trump is violating rule of law in every way and we’re fighting him every single day in every way. And our goal is to show the American people over and over again, whether it’s the economy, whether it’s tariffs, whether it’s Russia and overseas and whether it’s rule of law, how bad he is.

“And you know, it’s two years it’s too far away to predict. Our job is day to day to day to show who Trump is, what he is doing, and it’s having an effect as your polls show.”

I told everyone when Trump was elected that if he pardoned the J6 defendants, he was setting himself up for an impeachment effort, but that is just one aspect of this. With the crashing polling, Trump has to get this ship righted immediately or he Dems will take back Congress in 2026, turning him into a lame duck that would likely be facing an unprecedented third impeachment.
