Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) was recently interrupted by a leftist heckler, and he responded in a big way.
According to the Daily Wire, the incident took place during a campaign speech that DeSantis gave in Lexington, South Carolina, last week.
DeSantis recently entered into the 2024 Republican Primary field, and he is widely considered to be former President Donald Trump's top 2024 rival.
The incident, which was caught on video, took place as DeSantis was talking about parental rights.
Take a look and listen:
MUST WATCH: Crowd goes wild as @RonDeSantis ROASTS an enraged leftist who disrupted his speech.
“We're not gonna let you impose an agenda on our kids. We're gonna stand up for our kids! .... Those people like that in Florida are the people we beat EVERY SINGLE DAY” pic.twitter.com/pZHXkARZxK

At the start of the above video, which is roughly a minute long, DeSantis says:
Unfortunately, there's bad stuff that is getting into the schools. There is pornography that is getting into the schools. So, the parents have had to blow the whistle in Florida . . .
At this point, DeSantis gets interrupted by a female leftist heckler, who had apparently managed to make her way into the event.
The heckler says, "The right to health care, to their kid’s health care, you’re a f****** fascist. We say gay!"
At first, DeSantis attempted to continue his speech. But, the heckler kept interrupting, which led to loud booing and jeering from the crown. Then, DeSantis turned his attention to the heckler.
DeSantis, forcefully, said:
Well, thank you. We’re not going to let you impose an agenda on our kids. We’re going to stand up for our kids. We’re going to make sure to do it right. That's what we're going to do.
The crowd gave DeSantis a standing ovation, while the heckler was escorted from the room. DeSantis added:
Those people like that in Florida are the people we beat every single day on policy. We do not let them win. We win all these battles. We're not letting them indoctrinate our kids, not on our watch.
It was certainly a strong moment for DeSantis.
DeSantis, however, still has a long way to go to be competitive in the 2024 Republican presidential primary. Real Clear Politics currently has DeSantis trailing Trump, on average, by 30.8 percentage points. Moments like the moment captured in the above video will certainly help DeSantis.
