RFK Jr. snubbed at Kennedy family gathering at White House

Robert F. Kennedy Jr., a Democrat-turned-independent presidential candidate, is not in the best graces with his iconic family.

According to the New York Post, during a St. Patrick's Day photo op at the White House involving the Kennedy family and President Joe Biden, RFK was definitely not in the picture, so to speak.

RFK Jr. is currently running against President Biden in the 2024 election, and his family isn't thrilled with the idea.

His family is not only unhappy with his candidacy, but many have publicly disavowed it, presumably making for a steady stream of awkward family gatherings.

What happened?

Kerry Kennedy, RFK Jr.'s daughter, who was once married to former New York Governor Andrew Cuomo, posted a photo on X that showed about 30 members of the Kennedy dynasty posing with President Biden.

RFK Jr. was not one of those pictured.

"It’s not enough to wish the world were better, you must make the world better... President Biden, you make the world better. Happy St. Patrick’s Day," she wrote.

The president himself responded to her words and picture on X, writing in his own post, "From one proud Irish family to another — it was good to have you all back at the White House."

The NY Post noted:

Biden, 81, appears to have the most Kennedys serving in the White House of any prior administration, including Caroline Kennedy as ambassador to Australia, Victoria Kennedy as ambassador to Austria, and Joe Kennedy III as special envoy for Northern Ireland.

Social media reacts

Kerry Kennedy's post drew mixed reactions, but many social media users were not fond of RFK Jr. being snubbed out of the family get-together.

"You are a disgrace to the Kennedy name. Going against a family member like you are is disgusting. I'm not a supporter of RFK Jr., but I don't have to be to see how pathetic your extended family has become. Shame on you," one X user wrote.

Another X user wrote, "Your brother Bobby is the truth teller, speaking out for what’s right even when it’s not popular. Sad to see so many in your family would rather stand with the powerful than do what’s difficult."

While Biden has a decisive lead over RFK Jr. in the polls, Kennedy is still a massive thorn in his side and hurts the president more than he does Trump in hypothetical matchup polls.
