Republicans call for Ronna McDaniel's resignation after terrible election results

Republicans, overall, had a pretty terrible off-year election night this week, and political heads are already being called for.

According to Breitbart, Republican National Committee (RNC) chairwoman Ronna McDaniel found herself in the crosshairs of a growing number of Republicans who demanded she resign following Tuesday night's disaster.

Republicans weren't blown out on Tuesday night, but close to it.

Kentucky was an especially tough one to swallow, as Democrat Gov. Andy Beshear (D) was able to score a reelection win over Trump-backed candidate Daniel Cameron (R).

Pro-abortion measures also won in Ohio, and Democrats were able to secure control of the General Assembly in Virginia. Overall, it was a nothing short of a victory for Democrats, and a potential warning for Republicans.

Calls for McDaniel's resignation cropped up all over social media in the wake of the results of the off-year elections.

"GOP isn’t ready for 2024. And they have chosen to not be ready by design. They would rather watch America fall than help Trump and Trump endorsed candidates get into office. @GOPChairwoman must resign," Laura Loomer wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter.

"I truly do not understand how Ronna McDaniel has a job this morning," Emily Zanotti wrote.

Another X user wrote, "Since Ronna McDaniel became the RNC Chair in 2017, the Republican Party has had a net loss of 8 governorships, 3 seats in the Senate, 23 seats in the House, and the presidency. McConnell and McDaniel must go!"

McDaniel has faced calls for her resignation in the past, but ignored them all and successfully won her reelection campaigns to remain the RNC head.

Republicans, hopefully, learned some lessons Tuesday night. The left-leaning media has already portrayed the results as a "foreshadowing" of the 2024 elections. While there's still a year to go, and while general elections tend to perform differently than off-year elections, it's still a wake-up call.

Only time will tell.
