REPORT: Dems cold on Harris 2028 campaign

After getting the late nod in 2024, most of the powers that be in the Democrat Party painted her loss as Joe Biden’s fault for not leaving the race early enough, hinting that Harris would be the favorite to run in 2028 on the Democrat ticket.

Reports are now surfacing that may not be the case.

Getting Chilly in Here

If you look at the 2024 race after Harris was gifted the nomination, unconstitutionally, in my opinion, it mimicked her run for office in 2020.

Harris was among the favorites at the start of the 2020 race, then when people started to see more of her, they lost interest. In the 2024 race, she was spotted a big lead, then folded down the stretch. Point being, people don’t like her.

While Harris is leading in polling, she is not overwhelming anyone, having only 36% support among Democrat voters, but that is likely because of her name recognition.

A recent report in The Hill addressed this and the feelings of some of the top Democrats, such as Senator Hickenlooper (D-CO), who the outlet reported “doesn’t necessarily see Harris as frontrunner” in the next election.

No Choice But to Run

ESPN host Stephen A. Smith has been getting more involved in the political scene as of late, and while once saying he would never run for president, he has taken those words back, saying he may have “no choice” but to run.

When asked if he would consider running for president, Smith recently told ABC News, "I have no choice, because I've had elected officials, and I'm not going to give their names, elected officials coming up to me.

“I've had folks who are pundits come up to me. I've had folks that got a lot of money, billionaires and others that have talked to me about exploratory committees and things of that nature. I'm not a politician. I've never had a desire to be a politician.”

This is the debacle that has become the Democrat Party.

AOC Gaining Steam

As if that is not comical enough, there is a real movement to push AOC to run for president in the Democrat Party.

This all started as her replacing Senator Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.), but the movement is now gaining steam to put her atop the ticket.

Former House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) recently commented on this, stating that right now, Senator Bernie Sanders (I-VT) and AOC are generating big crowds, and since Sanders stated that he will not run again, that moves AOC to front of the pack. He did concede that does not mean it will stay that way, but AOC is getting a lot of attention.

Keep in mind, AOC just launched a unity tour, which many believe was a soft launch of a 2028 presidential campaign. In other words, she is putting her toes into the water to see if she likes the temperature. I will say this, while I would hope AOC would never get enough support, I will not laugh this off because she is a polarizing figure, and the presidency these days seems more about entertainment than agenda, so, no, I will not look past her as a real threat if she decides to run. She surely would get more support than Harris, of that I have no doubt.
