Rep. Greene files request to have Fani Willis disbarred

Fulton County DA Fani Willis has had a wild start to 2024.

After she narrowly escaped being removed from the election interference case she brought against former President Donald Trump over her relationship with top prosecutor Nathan Wade, Willis is seemingly enjoying doing an endzone dance.

Willis made clear in the days after the hearings that nearly knocked her off the case that it didn't slow down the case, whatsoever.

She went as far as telling those asking that "the train is coming," insisting that her case against Trump is still moving full speed ahead.

Moving forward with the case

In a CNN interview, Willis was asked whether or not the hearing regarding her relationship with Wade had in any way interfered with her case against the former president.

"No, my team’s been continuing to work," she insisted.

"All while that was going on...we were still doing the case in the way that it needed to be done," the Georgia DA continued. "I don’t feel like we’ve been slowed down at all. I do think that there are efforts to slow down this train, but the train is coming."

While she displayed confidence in her case against the former president, many believe she's in no way, shape, or form qualified to continue with the case. Many have called for her to be disbarred.

One high-profile individual calling for Willis to be disbarred is Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA), according to Fox News.

"Unfit to serve"

Greene announced last week that she has filed a formal complaint with the proper state authorities requesting that Willis be disbarred as a result of her actions.

"Today, I’m filing a complaint to disbar Fulton County DA Fani Willis for her corrupt actions," Greene wrote in an X post. "Fani should’ve been removed from her political persecution of President Trump after it was revealed she went on lavish vacations with her lover Nathan Wade," Greene wrote. "The lover she paid HUNDREDS of THOUSANDS of dollars!"

"Unfit to serve!" she added.

Only time will tell if her motion to have Willis dismissed goes anywhere. Hopefully, it does.
