Pelosi won't say whether Kamala Harris is Biden's best choice for a running mate

Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) refused to say on Wednesday whether Vice President Kamala Harris was the best choice to run as President Joe Biden's running mate in 2024.

Pelosi shared the response during a Friday interview with Anderson Cooper on CNN.

Pelosi's words

"He [Biden] thinks so," Pelosi said. "And that’s what matters."

"She’s the Vice President of the United States. And when people say to me, ‘well, why isn’t she doing this or that?’ I say, ‘Because she’s the vice president. That’s the job description. You don’t do that much,’" Pelosi said.

The concerns

"President Biden specifically tapped Harris to handle the chaos on the US-Mexico border in March 2021. The chaos has not abated, and illegal crossings have broken records numerous times during the Biden administration," the New York Post reported.

"Despite Pelosi’s assertion, Harris has been tasked with important roles since Biden took office. In 2021, she was put in charge of leading diplomatic talks to tackle 'root causes' like poverty, violence, corruption, and climate change which the administration believes are driving the migrant crisis," it added.

Strange priorities

Harris was tapped as Biden's border czar early in his term. Her last visit to the border was over 800 days ago.

Her most recent political highlight was hosting a party at her D.C. residence to celebrate 50 years of hip-hop where she was called out by online viewers for her "granny moves."

The concerns regarding Harris have expanded as Republicans have announced an impeachment inquiry against Biden. If Biden no longer serves due to any reason, Harris would be the nation's commander-in-chief.

When asked whether she was ready to lead, Harris claimed that she is, though she argues Biden will be fine to complete a second term that would end when he is 86 years old.

The comments by Pelosi don't add much confidence from the former Democratic House Speaker, revealing ongoing issues with the vice president and her political future.
