With Trump announcing that he was sending National Guard troops to California to help quell the rioting, you could just sense that Democrats were going to come after him.
It took about a minute before Speaker Emerita Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) joined the conversation, but it now appears she is twisting the facts to favor her narrative.
When the riot at the Capitol took place on January 6, Trump had been adamant that he had asked everyone to make sure the Capitol was kept safe due to chatter being heard regarding nefarious actors.
Committee on House Administration's Subcommittee on Oversight Chairman Barry Loudermilk (R-GA) later revealed a report that went against the narrative that Dems were saying and backed Trump’s claim that he had asked for additional security, including offering the National Guard.
Loudermilk stated, “President Trump met with senior Pentagon leaders and directed them to make sure any events on January 6, 2021 were safe. It is very concerning that these Senior Pentagon officials ignored President Trump’s guidance AND misled Congressional Leaders to believe they were doing their job, when they were not.”
The quote from the transcript has Trump stating, “Hey, I don’t care if you use Guard, active-duty soldiers, do whatever you have to do. Just make sure it’s safe.”
Publicly, Dems were all blaming Trump for what took place on January 6, but Pelosi was caught on camera taking the blame for the security breakdowns at the Capitol that day.
Pelosi was on the phone, stating, “We have totally failed. We have to take some responsibility for not holding the security accountable for what could have happened.
“Oh my god, I cannot believe the stupidity of this. And I take the full responsibility.”
Loudermilk commented on the video, stating, "This batch of unaired HBO footage is nothing new. For over three years, Nancy Pelosi has refused to take responsibility for her failure to secure the Capitol grounds on January 6, 2021. Instead, she has pushed the focus of the failure on President Trump. As Speaker, she controlled House operations and security on the House side of the Capitol - which she acknowledges in this HBO footage."
Pelosi ran right to the microphone about the California riots, stating, "On January 6th...we begged the president of the United States to send in the National Guard.
“He would not do it...And yet, in a contra-constitutional way, he has sent the National Guard into California. Something is very wrong with this picture."
I am not denying the deployment of the Guard that day was a hot mess, as there appeared to have been a massive communication breakdown as well as some people who were worried about the “optics” of deploying the Guard.
However, the Guard could and should have been in place beforehand based on the chatter they heard. I have also stated many times that I think Trump was foolish for even going that day, but that is a topic of conversation for another time. This is about the riots in California, and on that front, Democrats are spewing nothing but lies.
