FBI Director Kash Patel just delivered on a promise made long before Trump ever looked at him as the FBI Director.
Patel once threatened to shut down the Hoover building, which is where the FBI calls home, and turn it into a Deep State Museum.
Well, he just moved the FBI out, saying it will relocate to the Ronald Reagan building across the street.
I can still remember the left and media going crazy when Kash Patel made the comment during an interview.
He was doing a podcast with Shawn Ryan, when he stated, “I'd shut down the FBI Hoover building on Day One and reopen it the next day as a museum of the deep state, and I'd take the 7,000 employees that work in that building and send them across America to chase down criminals. Go be cops. You're cops. Go be cops.”
Patel also earned his stripes as a top aide for then-Rep Rep. Devin Nunes (R-CA), reportedly the man behind the FISA memo that blew the Russian collusion investigation wide open.
If you recall, then-Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA) came out with a response memo, claiming every point made by Nunes was a lie; only the Inspector General’s report, which came out years later, showed that it was Schiff who was lying, not Nunes.
The beginning of the end of the Hoover office was foretold when Patel started moving bodies out of the DC office space.
In May, a report broke that Patel had reassigned 1,500 agents from the FBI HQ to other offices around the country.
At the time, Patel stated, “A third of the crime doesn’t happen here, so we’re taking 1,500 of those folks and moving them out. Every state is getting a plus up.”
The DC office had about 11,000 employees, which makes up about 30% of the entire FBI employment staff, so his point was well taken, at least by those with some common sense who were sick and tired of seeing the agency weaponized and rogue agents running freely.
Once Patel started to move agents around the country, the shutdown of the Hoover building was almost a given.
Patel finally announced it this week, stating, "Team, the FBI Headquarters will be moving down the street to the Ronald Reagan Building, and the Hoover building will be shut down.”
Trump loved the move, stating, "The FBI will finally have the kind of building they deserve. Congratulations to Kash Patel, Dan Bongino and all the great people at the FBI.”
Now all we need is someone to hang a Deep State Museum sign on the old building, and we will have a complete meltdown by Democrats and liberals, not to mention what the reaction would be by the media.
